How about a Potsdam.
 
Not a potsdam nor a zouave. As for a hint, it IS military (sort of) and apart from modern times had never set foot in North America ;)

Ths copper washer under the nipple might be of help as this was common practise only a couple armies that I know of...

Oh, allright... one more set of hints. The barrel is NOT rifled and it was "born" in London.
 
East india co musket......kinda like a 3rd pattern bess but percussion.

By the look of the conversion she was made as a percussion arm and never a flintlock.
 
Close enough - It's an EIC Pattern F converted from an EIC Pattern E musket, made in London in the 1850's in .75 cal smoothbore.

Not a terribly common gun in Canada ;)
