Guga, Speedsec, CR, Ghost

I am shooting a single stack 1911 STI, I am waiting to get holster certified at my club... In the mean time almost 2 years I have been tucking my 5 mags in my belt and practicing mag changes. As you can imagine its not very good, my club says you need some kind of formal training to use a holster but there are no rules as far as I can tell about mag holsters.

I have been looking around, websites, EE exchange etc... I have a few questions

Seems Alot of guys are using CR products... I noticed they make a setup for single stack 1911 mags, I have 5 mags in total I would assume that I should by 5 mag holster... I have been practicing return the mags to my belt as well I am not interested in IDPA and dropping them on the floor

Could someone explain to me what inner and outer belt means... and what is the best size to get ie. 1-3/4 Inches 2 Inches etc.

The inner belt replaces the belt you have on to keep your pants up. It has the soft fuzzy velco on the outside of it.

The outer belt is the heavy, stiff belt that you hang all your kit on. The inside of the belt has the rough hook velco.

So,, in order to kit up, you just wrap the outer belt around your waste so it sticks to your inner belt and you are good to go.

Most ISPC stuff is made for the 1.5 inch outer belt. Most police duty belts are 1.75" (uncle Mikes) and larger depending on the maker.

Thanks,

I was looking at an uncle mikes duty belt that was 2" but not many accessories fit on it.

That's correct.

I have a couple of the Uncle Mikes duty belts and inner belts, but that is just for their duty gear. The belts are too wide for most IPSC holsters and pouches. Their inner belts are 1.5" though and are ok spares for the CR gear.

Safariland is wider and so is the Bianchi stuff. Safariland does it the other way around with the velcro with the rough stuff on the inner belt and the fuzzy stuff on the outer.

I am biased, but the CR Versa Pouches are probably a very good pouch for your 1911. Should you ever get another type of gun, they easily convert to almost every other mag design too and you won't have to re-buy pouches.

Could somebody tell me how wide of CR Hi-Torque Range Belt and if CR Versa Pouches fit CZ85 Combat mag?

Thanks.

bylogic

C/R belt is 1 1/2"....Ghost 360 mag pouches will fit any double stack magazine and are adjustable to 2 1/4 wide belts. Come in Black, Red and Blue colors.
