Glock 17 comes with a plastic guide rod. Is it a good idea to change to a stainless steel or better guide rod ? Thanks for advice.

really no need too...

IF it were a G34 or G35..and shoot standard i would get a tungsten gr and lower power recoil spring....

If it ain't broke, don't go trying to fix it. The stock one is just fine. Just swap it out for a new one every several thousand rounds or so.

If it is working fine, why swap it out every few thousand rounds? Never had a problem with mine. The only real problem with guide rods the armour's report is damage on the edge where they are pushed into the barrel, if they are not installed correctly they can chip or break slightly. They usually still work just fine even when the ends are broke or chipped. Just make sure when assembling your Glocks after cleaning that the guide rods are assembled to the barrel as they are supposed to be.
