Guide to finishing an 80% Lower from Dlask Arms?

Get ready to say good bye to the legality of sales of 80%'s in Canada
in a matter of weeks (if not days).

The good times have come to an end,
RCMP is moving towards this as we speak.

How does that work?

Is the RCMP going to restrict sales of aluminum at the supplier level too?

MADNESS!

Not surprised at all, if you found the 80% Dlask lowers, chances are more than a few with less than honorable intentions already know about. perhaps not an outright ban, but assigning a serial number and treating as a restricted frame.

Please enlighten us with a source. Thanks.

yeah, but one could make an open bolt fully auto subgun with the same if not less tooling than required for completing the lower. Talk about thought crime.

You will need/want a jig to finish... Unless your a professional machinist...

P.S. It takes ~15 minutes to finish an 80% lower in a CNC machine :)

I don't have an open source. Sorry.
Several officials have alluded to this since quite some time.
But now it appears that they are doing it for real.
As I said, it is expected to have an official decision regarding
this matter probably in few days or weeks
as they (RCMP) are debating it right now.

true, but would it as effective as the 80% lower AR that is finished off with name brand uppers and internals?

it is not "thought crime" it is closing a loop hole for bypassing the restricted firearm laws.

... Once a lower is completed it would be a restricted firearm... not especially bypassing since it'd have to be registered. What i'm saying is if one were to want to disregard the law, one could make much bigger firepower for the same amount of work.

Waste of time IMHO...

No criminal is going to make an AR-15 from an 80% lower... Its a lot of freaking work and requires certain equipment and skills...

I just got off the phone with "Mike" from Tactical Machining. He was very appologetic that they are not permitted to ship their jigs to Canada.

According to CNCGunsmithing, they will ship internationally.

Who did you hear this from if you can say? This would be pretty irritating if it happened literally days before I plan to purchase.

FABSports has the jigs as well.

The problem is where do you draw the line, if they ban 80% receivers I can see people starting to sell ones with slightly less work required.
