Ha guys there's the story I booked a guided Elk and Mulie trip on horse back in the rookies 4 years ago, been a long time coming, here's the story line 7 days before I was to leave broke my ankle in 2 places! Cant do the trip So not sure if anyone on here would be interested in taking it? In in Alberta in the Rockies guide says i can come out in November to complete hunt it ankle is good, if not it's looking like it right now I was wondering if there is someone who may be interested taking it over? Message me with a cell number for more details. Thanks Jim

Sounds fun, sorry to hear. I don't want to give any Mulies the Covid so I'm out. I'm at a higher likely hood of killing everything around me, you see.

Sorry to hear that! Last year, our Grandson was getting self all primed for his first deer hunt - a couple weeks before season, managed to break his arm in a hockey practice. Really sucked - so, get to redo that "first hunt" this year. Hoping that you are young enough to get another shot at that guided Elk/Mulie hunt - sounds like sort of a "lifetime" kind of thing... I do not know where you live or where you were going to, but I was North and West of Grande Cache (South and West of Grande Prairie) on foot a few falls ago - was a draw moose season - had some snow on the ground - November? But nothing like a November can be out on bald ass prairie where I am from!!!

Bro if its on Your Tab, Im In :)
i'll get there , somehow..... We have a new Nuclear Submarine now , they may hire it out soon to get some of the money lost on it back..... hahahaha

sucks about the Kankle, good luck on recovery an hope you get a hunt in

Yes it was a buck list hunt planned and booked this 4 years ago for my 60th birthday present to myself! That and a fishing trip to Rivers inlet both were a Bust!!live to tell the story. Hoping to get out this here heard from a buddy he got a cow elk draw in early December here in the Cowichan valley on the island! Will make it happen.

Accumark, don’t give up yet.

Stepped into a hole in the dark several years ago, and broke my left leg on the first night of a fly-in moose hunt up here. The pain was excruciating, but had my wife pull hard on the heel and instep until the bone was set straight. Splinted it up with about a dozen straight willow sticks and wrapped it all together with cord.

Went to bed with several Ibuprofen, woke up twice and took a couple more. Actually slept well enough to get some rest.

Early in the morning slid my leg into a hip wader. Barely fit, but that’s what was needed to keep everything straight. Spent most of the day in the boat calling, and we had a moose down and done before dark.

Really didn’t think it was possible, but ended up having both a good time and success. I would encourage you to check with your doctor and the outfitter for advice. Tell them you really want to go and see what they say.

Best,
Ted

Update I heard back from my guide Dewy Mattews from Anchor D outfitters he got out his waiting list book made a call and gentleman from Ontario who has taken many elk with him over the years has jumped a the chance to take the hunt as Dewy has sold his elk tags to another outfitter starting next year, so his last year to elk hunt makes me sad that I could not complete on the hunt. Thanks to the guys that showed interest in takening it over.
