Guitar strap as shotgun sling

This may have been done many times over already, but I just figured it out and pulled it off.
I put Uncle Mike's swivel's on my single shot 12 gauge and was about to head out and buy a sling when I remembered I had a leather guitar strap around that I didn't use anymore. The adjustable end of the strap was already 1" and it was really easy to thread through the bottom swivel and back through itself a bunch of times in order to lock it on and make three shell sleeves. For the top swivel, I just cut about 3" of strap down to 1" in width, put it through the swivel, created a loop, and sewed it back to itself. It looks awesome and only cost me the price of the guitar strap I had anyway, (which I bought years ago and was much cheaper than a leather gun sling).
Just thought someone might find this info useful.

Hmmm interesting. You could end up with some pretty funky slings seeing as how guitar straps come in all colours, patterns and themes. Now there's a sling to fit everyone's personality. lol!

I play guitar sitting in a chair, thankyou for providing me with a use for the couple slings err guitar straps i have sitting around
and this has also given me the urge to dig up my "quick release guitar sling and see if i can put the guitar mounts onto a rifle

a little creativity goes a long way, anything can be used as a sling, I used binder twine on a sako trg once, when I forgot the sling at home, should have taken a picture as it looked out of place but sure worked.

Yuk yuk yuk... I am currently using my son's (cast off) camcorder sling (SONY) because he has another setup sling that's more robust for his mtn biking and snowboard filming. That SONY sling is part of my CQB setup; 16" Armalite mid-length as well as 14" bbl'ed Norc HP9.

Now how about adapting a guitar case for your 12 gauge boomsticks? :D Nice and discreet!

Cheers,
Barney

Simpler (probably less concealed according to certain speculation) to use a similarly looking gun case and plaster it with music stickers. ;)

Q. "What kind of guitar is that?"

A. "A very loud one". :)

Gives a new meaning to the term "axe".
