Gun auction prices do not seem all that high.

Well, I'm assuming that's why the dont show who the seller is. Talked to a guy today who sold some stuff there and he freely admitted to bidding his stuff up. I guess there won't be many good deals if it is encouraged. Sells higher...more commission I guess.

Been playing the auction game for quite awhile and back before Covid there were some good deals but far and few between these days, I've pretty much given up.

Seems strange that it's the same handful of guys bidding on every gun available no matter what the price is, shill bidders I'm thinking, nobody bids on 300 guns in one auction, get serious.

Saw a Ruger 10/22 go for $375 plus juice and tax (maybe even shipping) for the same gun you can buy new at Tenda for $339 and free shipping, are people that stupid or is there something sneaky going on?

I bet there folks who only buy from in store or an auction house. There's generations of people who still can't use the internet with any basic capability

^ exactly

And this often means auctions have cool old guns from estates and older guys that you rarely see on the EE.

Be sure to read the fine print and beware of click bait style advertising. I won't mention dealer names as in reality the fault is mine for not reading the conditions, definitions and then assuming an ad for 'free shipping' meant free shipping for items a customer buys, you know, like everyone else. Not so and ended up paying way more for used stuff than what one could buy locally new. Buyer beware I guess and lesson learned. Cheers

I also found some auctions after they charge buyers premium, taxes and shipping, some are now charging a handling fee on top of all the other fees. So figure in another 10 - 20 in your price

If you want to sell your stuff in order to buy other stuff, try Prophet River. I sent them all kinds of FA's I wasn't using for store credit. Ended up with some really nice stuff that I do use. Really good folks to deal with and I continue to be a loyal customer albeit several Provinces away. Another dealer who has an auction site just hit strike three for me. Do they care? They don't seem to so I take my business elsewhere. Too bad as I try to support the smaller shops. Cheers

That is really good to know, thanks! And yet another reason to bring more business to Prophet River...
