Gun Case

Looking for some ideas for a gun case to fit my SxS. Case will be used for hunting. Not a hard case or take down case. Need something that I can slide gun out and hunt. Slip I think they are called. I have a soft case now, but not really made to accommodate SxS. Thanks

There are variety of such soft cases, quilted ones are of better quality. In the field, while moving between bird covers I use something like the following ..... no zippers, ability to store all types of shotguns and easy to slip in/out as needed.

Beretta makes a nice one as well. I picked up one of these at a recent shoot, price was reasonable.

Bass Pro has a great padded case for about $30, they say it holds a 54" gun. My 870 fits perfectly. The case only has one big pocket though. A great bag for the price though.

I've got a nice one that I use for iron-sighted rifles but it's a shotgun case. The end folds over and clips shut with a fastex clip. I believe it also floats though I've never tested it. Cabela's calls it a floating shotgun case and sells 'em for $30.

If you are in Winterpeg, go to Cabellas (ie the old S.I.R.) and see what they have to offer. Before you leave the house, put a tape on your firearm and write down the dimensions.

The other place that sells modest gun cases from time to time is Princess Auto (non sponsor dub dub dub princessauto.com/en/search?Dy=1&Nty=1&Ntt=gun+case ). Cheap can be good, if you know what to look for.

I have a case I bought from Canuck Tire. Rhino 500 series Shotgun case. It works ok,has a round hard plastic muzzle protector that fits my SxS. Sliding the gun in and out has kinda ripped the interior a bit. Have to fully unzip case to put gun in. I have seen the canvas and leather Shotgun slips that have a round end that looks like they are made for SxS Shotguns. Winnipeg it seems regarding both Cabelas and Wholesale don't seem to carry much in the way of Upland hunting. Yes they have shells, a few clothing items. But not like you can purchase in the U.S.
