gun choice help

I am looking for a precision .223 or 22-250 to give me some practice paper punching 500yds for a reasonable price. i am interested in more of the tactical looking rifles such as the sl8-6 but for a reasonable price. i would like a bull barrell and a 1:9 twist if anyone knows of a rifle like this pls let me know otherwise i might end up with a vtr.

Here we go again, most 22-250 I have seen are 1:14 twist. Lots of .223 in 1:9 twist. If you don't reload .223 is the way to go. And you said it was for paper punching so .223 all the way. Seeing as its your first post,I may advise you to edit the word sniper and change to "tactical" or prepare to be flamed(not by me). Unless you are going snipe hunting of course, then it's perfectly OK. Cheers Roscoe ps Try Savage or CZ rifles.

I've seen quite a few impressive range reports on the savage percision carbine. I believe they are chambered in .223 and .308.
