I'm interested in coating one or possibly more or my guns but I'm not real sure what to go with? What are some coatings/finishes you guys have used? Has anyone noticed they affect function after they are applied? How difficult is it to do?

I just applied Arma coat to a old Rem 700 and am very happy with how it turned out
It was easy to do and it seems very durable, definitely didn't affect the function
I'm about to do an abused mossburg 500 for a friend

Plan on using cerakote on my next AR for the lower and upper.

Anyone have any experience doing parts like the bolt catch or mag release? Does that mess up the spacing at all?

I've heard good things about Armacoat but with they had a few more options for colours. Saw a "titanium" Cerakote AR receiver on another forum that looked beautiful with black furniture.

Armacoat. It makes you happy:

My experience with Duracoat. It flake off. Cerakote wore off to quickly. IMHO Armacoat is the best. I have more stuff armacoated than anything else.
Like Rebel Rouser states...
When seen it on the internet!
LoL!!!
Any painted surface will flake or rub off the quickest. Hence why when Mr. Stoner invented this machine he called for a Chromed BCG and also a clean burning 280 round. Add constant heat and carbon mixed with grease or oil (Lapping coumpound is basicaly carbon and grease) plus the bolt and cam ramming back and forth. Well lets just say I read it on the internet! LoL!!!
