Had one quite a few years back, looked identical. Got it on a trade but didn't keep it long enough to even shoot it.
Looked just like the one below:
600's have a silver bolt handle, vent rib and no forend tip.
660's are all blued, no rib and have the black forend tip
600 Mohawks are all blued, no rib, no forend tip and the heaviest barrel of the three.

No. I was quite young when my great grandfather passed. That there is another relation.
Great Grandpa Story #33:
One night in downtown Quesnel my great grandfather heard something on his back porch. So he grabbed his old Colt 6 gun and went out back. Out there he found a homeless guy crawling around on the porch. He proceeded to fire of a couple rounds into the air to scare him off, which it did quite well. Soon a police officer showed up stating he had reports of gun shots. My great grandfather told him the truth. The officer promptly said he didn't hear that, wished my great grandfather a good day, and left with a smile.
That Colt was always in the side pocket of my great grandfather's chair right up until the day he passed. The gun disappeared after his passing. We have no idea who ended up with it sadly.

If you were to place a M-600 and a M-700 short action receiver side by side, you would see that the rear bridge and tang of the 600 are shorter, yet the bolts are of equal length. The M-600 sort of morphed into the M-7.
