Gun Nut/Lawyer Saying Hello

Hey All

So, after 10+ years of Firearm Collecting/Hunting/Sport Shooting/Reloading/Drooling-at-Guns, I have finally been persuaded to join the online world of Gun Nutz Canada... (A lot of fellow shooters speak very highly of this forum.)

As a lawyer who owns his own private practice and enjoys researching the sometimes exhausting area of Canadian Gun Laws, I am very interested on the various issues being posted on this forum.

I am also an avid sport shooter who shoots both traditional long guns, assault rifles and pistols. I am a big 1911 pistol fan, (own more than I can mention and consider myself to be an amateur expert on the history of the 1911 Pistol), and love reloading .45 ACP.

I really look forward to learning from all the collective knowledge on this great site! There is certainly a lot of information here and a lot of knowledgable people.

So, Just Saying Hey All!

Welcome! I think that you'll find this forum to be very opinionated and enjoy some of our frequent discussions which often debate legal issues at length (whether they're firearm-related or not). You'll also find that there are already many people on here who are either lawyers, amateur lawyers or law enforcement who often participate in these debates (you can tell just by reading what they post and the type of language - or legal "slang" - they tend to use).

All in all, I think you'll enjoy your visits to CGN. It's a great place for everyone who enjoys firearms.... and the more, the merrier!

;)

Cheers.

Howdy, sir:
Wish I had met you 41 years ago when I was less informed, not well educated, knew nothing about politics and even less about law, when I challenged the feds on Bill C150, what I consider (in my lifetime) to be the real beginning of the assault on legitimate firearms owners in Canada. However, I was (luckily) a quick learner in the political field and eventually form two different organization. One, in 1970 called FARO (Firearms and Responsible Ownership) a fundamental belief I had then and that I still hold and, in 1980 I formed the NFA (National Firearms Association) which, after I went financially bankrupt attempting to get Canadian firearms owners to recognize the threat to their interests, I had to leave to others to run. Foolishly, I had been supporting both organizations on my own wallet (I said I was not very educated) but before I had to leave, I had one very satisfying result of my quick learning of the game of politics -- having won every media, public and political debate I was invited to join in, in those days, no sitting M.P. would meet me in the public forum. Enough for now -- but welcome to the one place that I still have hopes can open the eyes of Canadian firearms owners in time -- particulary if you take the 3 million there are and all their compatible families. That is the answer in any election. Take care and if you wish, I can give you me email address.

Welcome, hopefully the CPC will win a majority this time otherwise if the Liberals or NDP get in (even as a coalition) I think many on this board will need your services.
