Gun oil and cleaner recommendations

I fell for the hype and bought FrogLube and I'm sorry to say that so far I'm not blown away like other FrogLube users have been. Don't get me wrong, it works great, but it does not yet seem to be so much better than other products I have used. I saw many firsthand accounts of people who applied the initial application and said the gun feels so slick now, and different than before in a good way. I did this (using a heat gun and everything) but so far nothing special. I'll save final judgement until after I shoot & lube a few more times though in case it takes a few treatments for it to really seep in and start working its magic.

So as to not totally derail the thread, I am a big fan of the following:

Hoppe's Solvent
Hoppe's oil
Ballistol
Slip 2000

Last year Gunzilla was all the hype. This year it's Frog Lube, until another pops up. When standing at the line and shooting at paper, most lube's are sufficient.

I guess you haven't tried Frog Lube.

Because if you did, you would understand that after the treatment, when you get home from the range, you just WIPE the Gun with a microfiber cloth. No need to use anything else. Run a patch down the barrel and you are done.

Hype...... at least try if before knocking it. It's all about the EASE of cleaning, not which one clean's better.

This isn't the first product made that enables you to wipe firearms down with just patches or a microfiber cloth to clean and I never said there was anything wrong with Frog Lube.

Rather disappointed with CTSC, as I thought I was entitled to a sample of FL with my last order.

Am interested in trying it.

1. clean with M-Pro7 cleaner
2. hard to reach spots with G96
3. mobil 1 dextron-3 ATF as a lube for sliding surfaces - 1 bottle lasts a long long time
4. run through with a patch of hoppes gun oil through barrel

Where can a person get ballistol in nova scotia (close to the south shore)?

I ordered it online.

Just google 'ballistol canada'. I bought my first couple of cans in the states at Kittery Trading Post. I've never seen it in a store in NS.

I've just recently started using it and I'm impressed. I'll use Sweets 7.62 if I feel the need to remove some copper. If I don't have any Sweets I'll use ammonia.
