I'm starting to see a gap in the safe, I have my moose/bear rifles taken care of but a heavy barrel 308 is my smallest Cal rifle, I hunt moose and bear regularly, deer once in a while and 1 cariboo trip a year, we don't have prairie dogs but I hunt wolf/yote/fox a little during the winter, I'm thinking 204 or 22-250 or on the other end heavy barrel 6.5 or 7mm the smaller cals are easier and cheaper to shoot the the larger cals can be used on big game also which is what 90% of my hunting consists of, what do you guys think??

You clearly need a 22-250 for varmints and a 6.5x55 for deer and just because it's a great cartridge. Also possibly a 280AI just to be different and have a great shooting 7mm that isn't very common.

You didn't expect rational restraint coming in here, did you?:D

I'm thinking maybe a 22 mag or hornet and i'm looking at a heavy barrel 7mm for heavy match bullets, the mag or hornet for plinking and close range and if I can't reach them with that I still have a 7mm/308/338 ultra/35 whelen/416 Ruger to handle it, 7mm will see alot more use than a 22-250 (I've had 6 and never used them enough to get attached) and the 22 mag or hornet is fun and cheap.

I have a 22-250 and a 25-06

I guess I just like those hypenated chamberings :D

the 22-250 is for yotes and small critters and the 25-06 is for deer

I think I have a few gaps in my collection too between teh 22-250 and the 25-06 as well as the 25-06 to 7mm gap :D
