Gun Shows in Ontario

Didnt get any milsurp but came home with 8 guns. 6 .22's, 16 gauge wingmaster and a old iver SxS. im pretty happy with them. Was alot of high prices but there was some deals.

wow! cool.
I was mainly searching for milsurps, maybe i should have been a lil more open.
good for you.

Not alot of milsurps stuff really. And i thought prices were high.

Anybody snag anything?

Not sure if you attended the same show, but there were quite a lot of military surplus rifles ... ;)

I picked up a nice jungle carbine. There were at least three more on display in the show.
Will post some pictures later this week.

Most guys here are right, prices were on the high side...
saw a k98, byf all matching in "good" condition for $1750.00... wow!!!

As interesting a show as Orangeville is, it's a hell of a long drive for me...knowing that prices are very high there, I generally don't go. :(

There was lots of enfields but not alot of other stuff. imho.
I tried to negotiate with that guy with the byf42. I offered $1400cash. Its what I think its worth. He starts quoting me Blue Book values.....I dont have the energy to argue with someone that Blue Book values are american and not rightly applicable to the canadian market.

That gent is in charge of selling the rest of the stuff from the adhominum stock & in my opinion, he is delusional. $600 for a spanish m44? Nice guy but economic principals are lost on him. No point in trying to haggle & he will be dragging that stuff from gun show to gun show till the end of time.

you are very generous .... I find even $1400 is way too much for this rifle in this condition.
Maybe $800.00 if somebody really, really wants it.

There were two.
The byf42 was in honestly nice shape. The DOU43 was beat with what appeared to be a HEAVILY sanded stock, with lots of material removed.

we are talking about the same table, and I didn't find the byf in $1400 shape...
maybe I have to change my glasses again...
what did they ask for the DOU?
and you are absolutely correct, the stock was rough and heavily sanded.

He wanted $1600 for the Dou, he says bluebook is $1800, but he would drop it to $1400 is I wanted it. I passed. I already have a DOU anyways.

Maybe I didnt look hard enough at the byf. lol. It was EARLY and I was operating on 3hrs sleep.
I thought it looked clean and I never find matching mausers no matter how hard I try so maybe Im biased as a want a full match war date/code so fukin bad.

But if you dont think it was worth it then maybe its good I didnt get it. lol

$1600 for the DOU ????? this guy should sell the stuff he is smoking.
He would be a millionaire in a week!

I went to Orangeville looking for long Carcano,Lee Metford or 1903 Turkish Mauser and walked out with K11 in pretty good condition for pretty decent price.Same guy had Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 for the same $.If I had any more space I would get it as well.

I drove with 3 guys and they all found what they were looking for-moulds with handles, powders, brass, lubrisizer etc so for all of us it was a good show.

I often go to the shows. I will be at the Ancaster one next week. There are many there who want top buck MSRP for their used stuff and some guy wanting mega $$$ for his NC Star rails & lasers. I go for the humour as much as looking for bargains or "unobtainium".
