Thanks for that, Decker9. That was a great thread you posted on rokslide. I would love to see more like that from you and others on CGN.
Oh, the things I want to do when I get my workshop completed later this year!

I will make a thread here on cgn with my next build. I have another pre 64 model 70 to do after this one, along with restocking my Cape buffalo rifle.

A couple others Iv posted as well. A lot of learning involved, reading through might help with some of the steps I use.

A really handy tool for roughing out the shape is a set of carving wheels for the mini grinder. You can't get too close to finished dimensions cuz it leaves tears in the wood grain that run a little deeper than they look. These carvers can remove material surprisingly quickly so even going slowly could be too fast lol. Then use some files to knock down the carving wheel marks, sandpaper to knock down those eh voila!
