Just a question out of curiosity not really looking to open one just wondering how hard it really is as some stores are just useless.

So how hard is it to open a store with a range and how would someone go about that. There are some amazing stores out there but some are just amazing at how they can be around any sort of weapon.

Thread hijack. Please delete if this makes me an eh-hole.

1) Join CSC. It's a big improvement, although not perfect.
2) Remember that in Calgary companies will pay $50k+ for a corpse that hasn't *yet* cooled to ambient temperature. Calibrate expectations accordingly, as you do at Tim's.
3) Also curious about OP's question, specific to Alberta. Would love more options.

Apologies. And a large regular, please.

Think sentences.
Opening any store, selling anything, takes time, money and good credit(not that you'll get credit terms from any supplier initially.). Opening a gun store with an attached range takes time, tons of money, good credit and tons more money. Plus Federal licences, insurance companies and loads of local municipal involvement that might make it impossible due to by-laws. Local municipal involvement involves local politicians and civil servants who may be anti-firearm ownership in the first place and don't want a gun shop with or without an attached range, anywhere in their jurisdiction. That alone can stop any shop opening.
On top of all that you need experience running a small business and enough money to live on for at least 5 years. That's in addition to money to operate a business.
