My shorty is 29.5" OAL and is only 4+1... Maybe you are on to something there. However, some of the bad reviews I've read about the KSG has really stopped me from buying one. Would rather have the tried and true platform for less money. If you can't do it in a couple shots, you are doing it wrong.

Might be a little too ###y to take fishing, but it's 29.5" long, has non-slip coating, can take internal chokes, room for a flashlight, oversize trigger guard for gloves, etc...
