My brother who is a gun collecter and shooter has a birthday coming up. He does all his own cleaning and minor maintence. Could someone please give me a idea of some different tools that I might buy for him as a gift as well as where I can buy them. Thanks in advance.

Get him gun screwdrivers kit . Wholesale sports item # 74351 or 74352 which is the Chapman kit for about $50.
It comes in it own case, so no need to pack it

If he reloads find out what powder he uses or what size/weight bullet he uses. You won't need a licence to buy them (in case you're not a shooter). He may likely has most of the tools he needs?? Consumables are ALWAYS welcome! (just make sure you get what he'll actually use)

I have to agree with a proper hollow ground gun screwdriver set, not the Canadian Tire variety.

If he doesn't have one yet, a good quality cleaning cradle. These are a vise like setup that cradles the rifle or shotgun on a bench and makes it easier to clean from either the breech or muzzle (if you have no choice).
