I tried to call in an order for 2lbs of H4895, and they told me that it is "seasonally discontinued." I also had them check Varget just for curiosity and it was the same thing. I'm willing to bet they just don't want to deal with it anymore after only dealing with it for a short time.

From what I've heard only Meaford and Belleville Ontario CT stores regularly stock reloading items.

Was at CT in Belleville today and their reloading supplies are almost completely wiped out. I bought the last of their rifle primers (500 for $10 on sale). They had no powder and very few bags of brass. Guy at the counter said same thing Hornady and the other American companies are swamped with orders in the states so they're only manufacturing the most common calibres and powders for the US market for the time being.

Imagine if some of the American manufacturers opened up operations in Canada.....and DIDNT unionize them. They would turn a profitm and over time I think it would bring our prices down. I have to result to mining copper and brass, and posting topless pictures of myself on the internet for extra reloading money and I'm not doing well with pictures.

Heck, some of my Hodgon bottles say it's manufactured in bloody Australia!!! I've been there once and quite like it, but Australia!!!! I wonder how much it costs for importation and how much gun powder costs in Australia....and if they are having shortage problems.

Bought some Alliant RE25 4 months ago and it was manufactured in Sweden of all places. Powder shortage is due to the US population getting ready for the insurrection. It is coming boys and girls if things dont change in Washington. We saw the beginnings of an armed insurrection with the BLM stealing Cliven Bundys cattle in Nevada last week. The 300 Feds from the BLM on Bundys ranch were staring down the gun barrels of over 5000 pissed off US citizen malita. They also were pointed at the US Federal Snipers who were positioned in locations around the ranch. There is no doubt in my military mind that if the feds had not withdrawn there would have been an all out range war. Americans are pissed off and ready to fight.

I stopped at Als in Arnprior on my weekly commute home. By the grace of Elvis I managed to snag their last 3lbs of IMR4064; I read a number of good posts in various forums about it. Price was higher-ish but not highway robbery. When I was walking back to my car I felt like I robbed the place. I'm hoping I can find primers cheaper than $46.99 that they advertise them for (not bench rest or match grade). I'm not hurting for primers yet but I wouldn't mind some. I'm stocked for a while now at least. Unlike some people out there I'm not buying it by the pallet (due to lack of room and approval from my better 3/4). Happy components sourcing all!!

I'm not against hoarding as long as it's within reason....whatever that is.

As for the events on the private ranch, I'm surprised that didn't erupt but glad that the federalis backed down. They would have had their @$$€$ kicked.

C.T. here in windsor east stv 40 sks rem sav probably 100 guns on display but no brass no powder and 7.00 for 100 win lg rifle primers and one case chek made 7.62 x39 299.99 and an overflowwing factory ammo display and many over priced scopes. You have a problem with unions and people earning a decent living?

I make a decent living, and am treated quite well at work. Why in God's name would I want to drag a union into it?? I hate it when some people hear "non-union", and automatically assume you're treated poorly and paid in chicken feed. My wife is in a union and hates it. Top-heavy beurocratic regime that protects the stupid and lazy... Ok, that's my rant for the day.

Im a union rep because I wanted to help the guys I work with, but I hate the unions and how they are destroying more jobs then they are protecting

No kidding.

I run a trade school at a union organization that is sometimes extremely frustrating. I have to try and teach entitled brats that have a hard time walking and chewing gum. Most of the people that I get in the school are great but there is always one or two of them that how they made it this far in life you often wonder. It is “the next one” not the “best one” mentality. It really breaks my heart when they can’t pass the tests and have 3 months to post out and find another job or get fired. Lol

I have been to probably 20 Canadian Tire stores in Alberta and have yet to see powder or primers, heck most of the time they hardly have ammo at them.

Lol, I hear ya. I'm frequently asked why I don't join up with the local plumbing union. I'm paid the same without the dues on top of it, get to work in town and sleep at home all the time and haven't been laid off in twelve years. Much of the union boys are away from their families all week and spend two to three months every year out of work. And they're paying for the privilege.......
Don't get me wrong, we needed them at one point or we'd all still be making 25 cents an hour, but seems like the union heads are more concerned with filling their own pockets and staying on top of the heap these days, kinda like politicians.
Back on topic, hope the powder thing works out for ya, I'm happy to see CT back in the game after so long and I'm really hoping to see more reloading stuff at our local outfits. I had a helluva wait for Varget, Cabelas has been bringing it in here sporadically lately.

*one more thought, best thing about non-union if someone is a real dumbass I can fire them on the spot, no questions asked.

I have a problem with unions driving labour cost so bloody high on account of ridiculous salary that jobs get sourced out of Canada, and to Asia in most cases. Unions were very practical 100 years ago when employees died on the job on a regular basis and "work" was borderline slave labour. Today they are redundant, and are slowly destroying our economy to what it is today.

Now getting back to the original intention of my thread which is CT and reloading...::let's move right along......

Does Ct have the intention of stocking reloading supplies anytime soon?
