gunpowder in Ottawa

any place to get gunpowder on a saturday in Ottawa? going up for the weekend and looking for some red dot, titegroup, or anything good for .303. using imr4895 right now. i`ll make my list of desired powder later.

Call LeBarons, Stittsville Shooting Range, or Higginsons.

LeBarons is open Saturday but closed Sunday. I wouldn't expect much. They got in an order a few weeks ago and only get a few orders a year so their next one might be a ways off. They'll probably have some odds and ends left at this point. They also have a 2lbs/person/day limit so dropping in for a bulk purchase as a one-off isn't really possible.

Stittsville is open Saturday and Sunday from 9-5 and usually have an odd assortment of powder. Last I checked most of their medium burn rate was gone except for CFE223 which can work for 303B. They had a bunch of slower stuff and I know I saw H414 and US869; neither much use for 303B. Stittsville generally wont put stuff on hold if you call unless you're a regular and they know you.

Higginsons is an hour or so East of Ottawa in Hawksbury. Best there is you can call ahead and have them assemble an order for pickup if they have the stuff you want in stock. Their stock list (don't know how up to date it is) says they currently have 8lbs jugs of H4895 and IMR4895 in stock.

H414 is a good choice for heavier bullets in the 303 Brit.

thanks to all so far. i`m using 200 gr cast paper patched. i`m going to contact these places and see what they have.
