dug a bit deeper and found a 2018 cbc article also
"The latest contribution announced early Friday brings Canada's total assistance for Yemen to $65 million since March 2017"

Pledged $411 million since 2015 actually. Considering that A) millions are threatened by famine and its possibly the biggest humanitarian disaster in the world right now and B) Canada has sold billions of dollars worth of weapons to the Saudis who are using them to create this catastrophe...Yeah.

$58 mil doesn't sound like that big of a deal.

Although if there were proof of how much of it was being funneled into nefarious purposes, that'd be something else.

One thing I always notice when I see this kind of thing, people in war zones really don’t care what the gun looks like. Here we buy furniture and rifle accessories in sets and everything always has to match and look correct. Those guys just have guns that look they were thrown together with random replacement parts out of a bunch of different piles. Polymer hand guard and a wood grip, attach a rail or something with some drywall screws, make a sling out of an old leather belt. It really doesn’t bother them at all

Instead of us all moving there, a better plan would be to send them that carney guy, the houthis would appreciate such a qualified economist.

I was told there is enough space in Yemen, to settle the rest of the liberal scum as well.
