Get a cheap 12g shotgun. Like a Mossberg Maverick 88 or something like that - one that looks badass to you.
You could be blasting away for under $400 after taxes and having fun with something relatively cheap to shoot that could also be used for grouse hunting or bear defense or ???
Don't want to spend a ton when you don't know what type of shooting you want to do, my shotgun is the only gun I have bought without a real purpose other than being a pleasure to shoot.

You definitely feel it, not like throwing a sausage down a hallway. Not beginner friendly tho.
