Gunsmith in Saskatoon to thread barrel of Mosin Nagant for muzzle brake

Hey guys
I'm looking for a gunsmith in the Saskatoon area who can thread a muzzle brake onto the barrel of a Mosin Nagant. I don't have the gun or parts yet, I'm just looking ahead for when I start putting it together. I need a gunsmith who can time the threads on the barrel so that the brake can be threaded on without the use of shims, because the barrel of a Mosin doesn't leave much material for a shoulder. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
I agree. A.C. Douglas is my first choice amongst Saskatoon gunsmiths. If he can't do what you want, he won't tell you he can.

Yes. Kerry has had something of mine for a couple of years. (To be fair, I haven't gotten to a couple of exterior painting jobs I took on last summer, so I should be patient.) He has done work well for me in the past and was very reasonable on price, but he has lots to do so I won't take him another job until I get the last one back. And I won't encourage anyone else to distract him from getting around to mine.
 
Last time at the gunsmith shoppe I asked about barrel work and was turned down and told to go see craige at AC Douglas

would that be my barreled receiver ;)
 
Is K&E gunsmithing, A.K.A Saskatoon gunsmith shoppe - Kerry Higgins? Was in Calgary about 1970 or so at Barotto Sports and went back to Sask about then?

well I finally got around to fixing the lathe and I have a block of steel 1 1/2" thick to start with. Just need to get the 4 jaw chuck on the dam thing... can't seem to get the 3 jaw chuck off.

oh and I ended up with a 1943 Long Branch with a bent barrel and a Long branch .22 barrel so thats a project that requires very little thought.
 
I haven't taken anything to AC Douglas that was complicated or needed replacement parts. He has only taken as much as week for any work he did for me, and never longer than he said it would take.
