Gunsmith, New Brunswick

There is a good gunsmith on the North side, you go up river to the stone bridge then take that left over the bridge, and you carry on about a mile, and when you see a large nursing home on the left, he is on the right. Forget what the shop is called, but the owner is trained at the Denver school, and has been practicing around 10 years that I know of.

He hasn't done work for me, but as a machinist we occasionally get into it and he certainly sounds as though he has done some interesting projects. Also has a military background, no idea if that involved armory stuff.

My impression is that he has good gear and talent, but Fredericton is a lean market, so if your job involves a lot of supplies, he won't have them if they are regulated. He couldn't get me enfield actions he thought might be in the community somewhere, and he was bummed that he had trouble getting barrels for his own work. Now if he had unlimited time, he might be the kind of guy who could make his own barrel. :)

Looking for recommendations for gunsmith services in New Brunswick, preferably near Fredericton

Thanks

I've been mailing my stuff to two or three fellows out west for years depending on what I need done. It's easier than driving all over NB getting work done and I know what to expect every time.

The Gun Dealer has someone on their staff that is a gun smith.

AFAIK there are no real gunsmiths in N.B. Quite a few who play at it. Palmer brothers were quite good but are no longer working at it. Havent heard of any others but there may be. Beware of the gunsmith who also sharpens skates and fixes lawnmowers.

Used to be the remington authorised repair center. Wasnt it Randy something?

I'm sure you're right, but I just don't know of him.

He might live up north. By the time I drive up there to drop off and pick up, I might as well just send it in the mail from here.

You would be reffering to Randy doucet in tabusintac NB he used to be authorized savage warranty guy also. He was very good but also very slow! Has been outta the game now for 3-4 years.
I agree with supercub, anything I need done I send to Dennis Sorensen or Bill Leeper out west, get what I want everytime and no guessing games. There both also members here on this forum! Cheers
