I'm looking to get a couple of antique broomhandles restored. Looking for recommendations for anyone reputable in Canada first, and if they don't exist, someone the U.S.

Find a collector who could help. I am in the same boat. C96's are all machined and need tlc to work. Mine is a middle east
israeli surplus gun that I imported many years ago. Has the map of the middle east all over it from various military owners
proof stamps.

UK or Europe perhaps? What kind of restoration do they need? Or do you mean complete reconstruction to eliminate grossly worn tolerances? Some things are possible, some are not. Plating can be used to build up loose tolerances, sometimes. There is or was a company stateside relining the barrels IIRC. Why don't you post some photos?

The Gun Rack is supposed to be one of "THE" places to go. They're known as "The Broom Closet" - specialize in refurb/refinish/repair of broomhandles. However there's all of the BATF stuff to deal with when going to them ...

Also there's a yahoo group specifically related to c96 (and related) broomhandles ... C96_Forum ... lots of information and help there as well ...

lugercollector.com may be able to help you. Peter does deal in C96's as well but I can only speak for his Luger work. He's located in Montreal.

What do you need for repairs? I've brought a couple back to shooting condition :d. PM me if you'd like and I'll give you some tips.

When I #### it, the trigger won't release the hammer unless I put a slight amount of forward pressure on the top slide (which is slightly loose)

I'd love to get this gun working properly again.
