I had to check out the website. The collection of icons and pics that have been added really threw me. Airborne cap badge, US Army T-shirt designs and the ### pride flag. What exactly is he advertising?

Worst luck ever...

The shop was born out of neccessity really. Twister and Tammy were involved in a violent car wreck in 2007 leaving both injured, but Twister the worse with a third time having broken his neck and back in the crash. Sadly, while about 6 months into recovery after the wreck, Twister was told he has contracted early onset Parkinsons Disease.

He's an engraver and he has Parkinsons??? No disrespect, but is this really the best choice for a second career?

I hate to jump on the Bashing Bandwagon but after looking through "Twisters" web sight I couldn't resist. Check out the Master Engraving heading, now look at the Before & After Pics. Wow this guy's amazing! He can transform a mundane straight gripped stock to that of a Weatherby Lazermark, and even more impressive change a Colt 1911 to a Browning Hi-Power. Master Gunsmith, Master Engraver, and Master Magician!!

Bad luck aside that in no way excuses claiming someone elses work as your own.

I truly would have liked to have seen Rick's face when twister told him he was the only gunsmith in town

I would like to thank the gentleman that called me regarding slanderous comments aout myself, the shop. the pieces I've created etc. It's great to have friends out there watching my back! Thank you once again Sir!

Problem is...you can't make everyone happy all the time. There's no point in my mentioning the websites where the comments appear...they are good sites and they, like me, ar not about to tell anyone what to think or believe. We're not perfect here and like anyone else, we have things to learn. The day I stop learning is the day I hope someone puts a bullet in me!

Yep...we've had delays, trouble getting parts, especially from the U.S. We simply strive to do our best and no, we don't claim anyone's work as ours. You may see rifles or engravings that look similair to other work yes. I've always considered that there a great many Engravers and Artisits in the world and my humble attempt to either mimic or somewhat copy their work, is intended as a form of flattery. My work has been copied as well...thank God! It's a compliment to me that anyone would like a piece enough to create something close for themselves. Doesn't mean I'm going to go running around claiming ownership! I don't copyright my work...why should I? Change one line in any engraving or drawing and at worst it's plagery [sp]. Too me...it's taken as a compliment...nothing less.

As for these complaints about a trigger guard that wasn't made...well the things only got 2 inches of dust sitting on it from waiting 5 months for the guy it was made for to bring his Cooey in so I could do a final fitting. He didn't show up, didn't call. What I'm supposed to begging him to do business with me? For a $20.00 piece of metal...I don't think so. Yes he's #####ed that I stuck him with a piece of junk pastic trigger guard. He may recall I took it off my wife's Savage and cut it down so he could use his rifle and not have an accidental discharge from an unprotected trigger. Seemed like a good idea at the time to do him that favor and loan him a part. But live and learn.

It's not going to stop me from doing what I can to help guys out until their firearms are repaired. He had the offer of my personal Ruger 10/22 until his trigger guard was ready...but he turned me down and took the plastic piece of s**t guard as a loaner instead. So he neglected to mention that in his comments on another forum. Whatever...it's his $20.00, he's entitled to spend it elsewhere if he wiants to. And yep, he can even stretch the truth if he likes and blame me for all his little problems. Doesn't change that he's just one of those people that like to #####. Not my place to try and fix him...just his rifle.

And lastly...I'm very open and upfront about supporting Tatyana and Michy. Most guys who gripe about them being lesbians, just have their panties all bunched up because the girls wouldn't date them. Jealousy is an ugly emotion. I'm proud of my girls and pathetic little cracks like that isn't going to change my mind or my daughters.

Some people just have way too much time on their hands...bottom line.

Thank you for choosing Twisters Gun Shop and thank you for your business. We shall continue to strive to do our very best for ALL our members and clients.

Twister

Funny I even posted the fact that i tried to get ahold of him in Feb and March and nothing. Sad that he can't read.

and as for offering me his personal Ruger 10/22 thats bulls**t he put that on without asking me and told me that it was till i get the new one built.

AND 5 months he has had it finished? Interested how his own daughter messages me in Jan and said that its almost done. count back twister that aint 5 months. If you want to count its been 4 months since you responded to my messages that i have left.

as for not calling I'VE been in the shop where u look at the phone and go i don't need to talk to him! so don't tell me i didn't call over the last 4 months i called half a dozen times, i should have to run down a part that i paid for!!

As for his site well he deleted all the pictures of the guy from the UK. Shows his ture colors and how his custom work really isnt his. If he wants to use those pictures i don't care but at least say, these are copies of a great smith from the UK, instead of saying that they are his.

lol more fraud...
under master engraver

"Custom Painted Finishes

These are completely "Cutom Works" and are one of's...no two being exactly alike. They are not the glue on decals you'll find at retail stores, they aren't transfers...but "hand painted" from premium enamels that are specifically formulated for firearms.

Designed, created and painted by Twister "

the first two are off this site wow really created and painted by twister my ass

and no, we don't claim anyone's work as ours.

Except maybe this one which has your name on it but was found on a UK website and as it has a silencer on it was clearly NOT built in Canada seeing as silencers are ILLEGAL here.

I note when looking through Twisters website, the constant references to "Twist Brand Rifles" but am confused by this. From what am seeing the "Twisters Team" is merely changing or modifying some parts, or possibly assembling parts in order to build a customized rifle.
Until recently when we started manufacturing our own actions, ATRS did exactly that, fitted and assembled other manufacturers parts to build custom rifles, so does that mean we should be rebranding the Remington, Nesika, Stiller et el actions as ATRS Brand?

I have to wonder about the relationship with King Optics, there seems to be a number of similar business practices there. Possibly the same photo shopping classes.

I also would like to know how in 2 years (less recovery time) from accident to "new career" 1 becomes a "Master gunsmith"?
I have been in the gunsmithing trade for over 30 years and am not sure I would call myself a "Master Gunsmith".

"The shop was born out of neccessity really. Sadly, while about 6 months into recovery after the wreck, Twister was told he has contracted early onset Parkinsons Disease. Thankfully though, he was diagnosed relatively early on, but nevertheless, lost his old career and hus the ability to make an income. It was Tammy's idea to open the shop. She simply suggested one day early in 2009 that Twister perhaps turn his lifelong hobby into a business to give him an income and at least something to do! On the 1st of April, 2009, as a bit of a literal April Fool's joke...Twisters Gun Shop of Calgary was born."

"Twister, the shop owner, is a Master Gunsmith & Master Engraver not for having some guild you've never heard of saying he is...and not becuase he has fancy certificates proclaiming he has mastered these crafts. More importanly, it's our Clients who proclaim him a Master, and that's what's important to him...and us. "

So essentially a "master" in someones mind, but with no sheepskin on the wall?

On a side note, whoever is doing Twisters webwork should really enable "spell check" :p
Alot of work has gone into his website, it is a shame that spelling is so horrible.

I feel for the guy having all his medical problems and having 2 hot and I mean starlette class ### daughters. With all the plagiarizing, master gunsmith/engraver going on I have to say Twister is a good handle. He builds guns with a twist alright.
