Gunsmith to avoid in Calgary AB

Wow. That is one pile of serious insanity there.

Why is it these web of lies types always resort to trying to spin more bulls**t when they're caught?

Haven't seen this level of literary diarrhea to support lying since my old roommate's newly bats**t crazy ex-fiance tried to convince him on email (including impersonating her own son) that her f**king around on with three other guys was my roommates fault but she still loved him, lol.

As for letting it die, just have to say thanks for it coming up on recent posts as I likely wouldn't have seen it. Now at least I'm forewarned. So, thanks!

I sold him a rifle once and waited 6 months yet still never got paid. He had a car accident as the story goes. He told me that his daughter is also a gunsmith. Yet she is deaf and her wife has to answer the phone for her. The reason why I never get an answer when I tried to call. I find it hard to understand how she can run a lathe/mill with no sound. It's hard at times for me and I can hear. I wouldn't want her to work on any of my pistols/rifles. She might be a good gunsmith but that just my two cents worth.

Wow he has bad luck. I sold him a rifle once and he had a motorcycle accident. Thats why it took him so long to pay me, complete the transfer etc. Poor guy seems to have a lot of accidents...

My personal Colt is exempt from thisoffer as I hold a concealed carry permit and the Colt is the sidearm I carry.

Maybe she's a prospector in her spare time...:p

If it is true, she may have a permit for one or more States, as she doesn't actually say where she carries it...As for the fotos, intended or not, they were passing the engraving off as his work, and only took the fotos down after they got called on it...

That little diatribe reads like it was written by a grade eight kid trying to sound like a sophisticate. Painful to read.
If that was written by a Harvard Grad, they ought to raise their standards a bit.

I gotta agree with the feeling, that this is not free advertising so much, as it is fair warning.

Cheers
Trev

You can post your complaints regarding his work.
But beyond that it does not give you the right to harass the shop and the people who work there.

The member who brought this up and the one who "messed with his forum" should be banned.

The member who brought this up had a valid complaint and offered details of his experience to aid the rest of us in making an informed decision before using this shop. The subsequent discoveries of fraudulent advertising and lies are no one's fault except the shop owners.

I don't know what 'messing with his forum' means so I can't comment on that.

I saw what he did and when he means messed with his forums he just went on and asked a bunch of times for twister to explain himself, it wasn't rude or insulting, just alot of posts saying give us answers. I wouldn't take that "messed with his forum" as litteral harassment. and twisters harassment is people questioning him non stop and someone messaging everyone on his members list to question twister about why he used that work and said it was his own atleast that is the surface messaging that i saw. it did work (the surface messaging that people did) they did come out and say that it wasn't theres and they will not post or use another persons work anymore.

As for Harassing or threating i cant say forsure that anyone came right out and said something or emailed them anything to that extent i know that i would never want that to happen to myself or others i know. If anyone did that is something for twister to bring up and deal with himself, i dont want anyone to do that personally but i can't stop them.

But i wouldnt say ban anyone unless they flat out said i called and harassed them or threated them. if they did that, those people would be acting as bad as twister did by stealing others work and claiming it as his own.

Just wanted to remind readers about the thick line between Concerned Consumer
and Bully.

He has the right to his opinion,
But is not living up to what he said.

"I gave up trying to deal with him. He never answers his phone, no responses to emails, or to his face book page. I already have a new gunsmith in Calgary that i am dealing with, so i will get him to fix this disappointment of gunsmith's work. "

Sounds like it should have ended at that.

twister

last year when I was looking for a gunsmith to do some work for me, I found his website, and the red flags were raised. I got a laugh from his ### rant, even one of my lesbian friends found this site to be whacked. I signed up on his forum to watch the train wreck and a year later it happened. I am surprised it took this long.

I feel for his family , I know what it takes to start a company, and his family will be paying for this mistake years down the road.

anyway this is the latest e-mail to his forum members

Unfortunately some, if not all of you have received some sort of emaillately, from parties unknown to Twisters Gun Shop. We’ve received them, alongwith a certain number of threats for myself and sister’s Michy & Nikkibeing Femme [We are Lesbians for those of you unfamiliar with the terminologyof our world].

Twister is not writing this email, but has requested me, Tatyana Hiltz,Shop Manager & a Gunsmith myself, to address the issues raised lately.Reason being, Twister, whom is my adoptive Dad, fully admits that he is quitehonestly, not the person to address the public. He admits openly to being givento cussing too much and using language that may be considered by some, offensive. This has always been our reasons for having myself, create, design anddo 98% of the writing on the website, Twister’s Facebook page, and Twitter.Frankly Twister calls himself “facebook illiterate”, he does not handle much ofthe shops communication himself. Occassionally he does use the shops email tocommunicate, as you’ve undoubtedly noticed.

That being said…yes we did “use” fotos for advertisements on the siteand Twisters Facebook page. Yes, Twister approved them as in his words “theymake damn good advertisements”. There was no malice or ill intent from Twisterhimself or Twisters Gun Shop. We are a small shop, created adverts that somefound unacceptable. When we were requested to remove the fotos…we compliedimmediately. We complied so as not to cause problems or issues with thosetelling us they owned the fotos, pieces in them, etc. The fact that we now havesome small minded, vulgar twits attacking the shop and our website members, ismerely an unfortunate circumstance we cannot control. Thus we have shut theForum down and locked everyone out of it. It’s debatable wether we shall have aforum again, or at least until we find a way to have much more control over thecrude and vulgar language that was used. Twister will not have Ladies on thesite subjected to such ignorant, offensive talk and language.

As for Mr. Nathan Cook…if he had a receipt for having paid Twisters GunShop the $20.00 he’s claiming to have paid, he would have already been issued arefund. We do not conduct business thru Facebook messaging, as Twister does notreceive these messages all that often or regularily. And we received nocommunication thru either twistguns@gmail.comor info@twistguns.com or by telephonefrom Mr. Cook. Nor do we have a receipt issued to him for paying the alleged$20.00 he claims. Yes he requested a trigger guard be made. We do not oftentout ourselves as part fabricators, but agreed as Mr. Cook was a clientalready. Since he wanted to use the rifle, a stop gap measure of a loaner, plastic trigger guard off of Tammy’s Savage 22 was jury rigged to his rifle toprevent an accidental discharge. Apparently this has been posted on severalforums and such as an example of our work. We don’t care to mention whichforums or sites as we have no intent to bad mouth or bash anyone. Safe to saytho, if Mr. Cook wishes to go around having his little hissy fit, he is free todo so. But if he is going to issue threats and demands, it might help if hedecided to tell the full and both sides, of the story.

We have been requested to cease work on some jobs by some of our formerclients. These will be sent out, by COD Canada post, as requested, on Monday 19April, 2010. If we’re going to voluntarily give up work at no charge to theowners, I’m quite certain we would refund $20.00 if a proper Twisters Gun Shopreceipt was or could be produced. Suffice it to say, we do not make a policy ofknuckling under to these…ahem…so called men, making schoolboy threats.

Our work has and will stand by itself. If you afraid of having aLesbian work on your firearm, I can personally assure you…your ###ualorientation will not change, for having me touched your gun! I do work on thejobs Twister needs me to work on. He handles all the designs for engraving, scrimshaw, and the actual work itself. I am no Engraver. If tho you feel theselittle emails being sent around, show some sort of relevance to the quality ofour work? Yes you are free to move your work or take it to another of the otherfine Gunsmiths in Calgaryand area. We are not here to challenge anyone’s work or ethics and shall notname these shops out of professional courtesy. No grudge or malice will comefrom the Twisters Team…you are of course, free to take your firearm, whereveryou wish to have it repaired.

If you choose to remain or become a client of Twisters Gun Shop, wethank you, we appreciate your business, and we shall strive to hit a home runfor you and provide our usual excellent service. Yes we are experiencing afinancial crunch at this time. We are experiencing delays because we simplycannot afford to order and pay for all the parts we and outside services werequire. We will keep the delays to a minimum as we can, and thank you for yourpatience, understanding and apologize for the inconvenience our situationcauses you.

We are in the midst of a new “policy agreement” we will use from thistime forward inregards to posting fotos. We won’t be posting any of our workuntil it is done enough, that you can drop by the shop and hold the piece shownon our site, in your hot little hands! That should suffice this nasty businessof Twister be some sort of fake. If it does not…we’re open to suggestions as towhat we can do to satisfy your curiosity. My personal Colt is exempt from thisoffer as I hold a concealed carry permit and the Colt is the sidearm I carry.During the time gunsmithing and engraving were but a hobby to Twister [the past20 odd years], he did not think to take a foto of everything he created. Thisis why we used the fotos we did, he had none. That shall change with theupcoming completion of Queen Gwendolyn, Macksie’s Lee Enfield, etc., includingany customer pieces we gain permission from the owner to use. If we don’t getengraving work until these pieces are ready…so be it.

We apologize for the antics of these people [LOL and whomever} whomhave spammed your inbox with their garbage. We have yet to find a way tocontrol the garbage floating around the internet. If you have…call BillGates…he would love to know how to as well I’m sure. Twister did break hisknuckles and no…we are not about to produce his medical files for anyone. Healso is afflicted with Parkinsons Disease and spent the past 2 years beforeopening the shop, recovering from the third time his neck and back were broken.Same response, we will not produce his medical files as they do not have anyrelevance to the quality of his or my work on your firearms. If it ever does,he doesn’t work…that’s why he has me to assist him. I have green eyes if thateffects my gunsmithing somehow…my god!

In conclusion…Twisters Gun Shop, the Twisters Team and Twister himself, considers these issues asked and answered as far as we are prepared to dealwith them. You have our apology for the fotos, nothing but a compliment to theEngraver was meant. We removed them as requested…we removed ALL of our fotos, including that of the entire Twisters Team due to the physical threats wereceived. These twits have their opinions and they are entitled to them. If wecould get our heads that far up our asses…perhaps we could see their point. Butthat’s not going to happen. The forum on the Twisters site is shut down and ALLMembers locked out, until, and if, we decide to once again even include a forumand blog pages. Twister never did like the idea, so doubtful you’ll ever seethem again. He doesn’t read forums due to what he calls the “foolish content”.Our experimentation with a forum is over…by our choice.

This matter as far as we are concerned is over and done with. Nofurther comment will be issued or discussed by Twisters Gun Shop.

Thank You

Safe & Happy Shooting

Tatyana Hiltz, Shop Manager

Guntech, if people wish to keep talking about this subject they should be welcome to. if you do not wish to be involved you should not read the post anymore.

and it is not a worthless thread it was telling people of a gunsmiths bad work and it flushed out that he was using others peoples work to claime his own.

I think if it were your work he stole you would want to know of this. or if he could work on your guns in the future you would want to know.

You have the right to express your voice, thus so does everyone else.

Guntech

has a point on what he says.

I am surprised this thread has gone on this long.

How long would one go on if I gave my opinions of a so called gunsmith and bashed him even if he had never done work for me?

3 guns that I know of that have had to be fixed. 1 was and the others went to another gunsmith to have have done right.

Yes it is right to inform the public but sometimes there is a time to call it quits.

If in fact the threats took place they should contact the Calgary Police Service and let them deal with that. I have come to agree with guntech and a few others that this dead horse has taken a severe enough beating. Everything that needed to be covered and discussed is done. All that's left is being mean or cruel and real Gunnutz are better than that.

Mods, do that voodoo that you do so well.
