Gunsmither™ - 10/22 Bolt Bar™

I think there is a wide variation in the difficulty of this task, depending on the parts involved. I have a stock Ruger receiver with stock charging handle and stock bolt that pops in first time every time. I also have a Kidd bolt, Kidd charging handle, Dlask receiver combination that is a major PITA. The tolerances are so tight that even removing the bolt is hard, reinstalling it is an exercise in frustration. The Kidd bolt has a bevel at the charging handle recess to supposedly make this process easier, but that has not been my experience. If I could pick up this tool for $13 at my local gun shop I would not hesitate, but at $22.45 USD shipped I think I will try to make a similar tool from scrap aluminium.

I agree totally!!!!! My KIDD setup is a total PITA to put back together. Haters can hate, but I just ordered one of these, anything to make the process easier. I have the clean drill set up from him as well. So much easier than tearing down the V-block for a good cleaning. http://www.gunsmithertools.com/1022-cleaning-rod-hole.html

Ive used a small allen key, an offset screwdriver, and sometimes nothing to get it back together. I'd make a simple tool like that if I needed one, but for the amount I would use it I'll stick to my old ways.
