The Dunlap book is one of the basic texts, worth having. I am not familiar with the other. Get Brownells catalogue, their book section lists a number of choices.

Do a google search for "Virgil Howe", he has two good gunsmithing books out. They date from the 1930's, but still chock full of great information. Titles are: "The Modern Gunsmith, Vol 1, Vol 2"
Copyright has expired on them, to the best of my knowledge, as I have seen them in the public domain.
They are both in .pdf format and are a fair size; 60 -70 mb. But certainly worth the download, even if you happen to be on dial-up :)

Cheers,

Jim

For specific firearms like 1911's, Rem 870's, M1Garands/M14's, etc, it is hard to beat Kuhnhausen shop manuals. I have 5 of his books and they are very good for diagnosing and fixing problems. I picked most of them up off eBay for a lower than retail price.
