Gunsmithing course

They call it a gunsmithing course, they basically walk you though building a rifle of the caliber you desire. You bring in an action and machine a barrel for your rifle and make the necessary changes to the action. No machineing experience is needed but is highly recomended. Talking with instructors from SAIT they recomend taking some or all of the continueing education courses in machineing that they offer before you take the gunsmithing course. That way they are spending more time with you on your project than teaching you how to run a lathe. Pages 129 and 130 of the SAIT calander. I haven't seen the calander for the upcomming school year but this is what they offered this year. ww w.sait.ca/pages/about/publications/pdf/currentconed.pdf

If you've got the money, the AGI video course is a world better than the other correspondence courses but the full course will run you about 10,000.00
The problem comes after the course because you don't get any hands on supervised experience. The only other practical route is to go south. Sorry

I have a bunch of the AGI gunsmith videos. I got them just to learn a little about taking apart my own rifles. I find they're pretty good but Im also not trying to be a smith.
