Gunsmithing

Is that an Unertl 2 inch? It's been a long time but I once owned a couple of those. 32X and 48X, about 1973 or so. Barotto Sports bought them directly from Unertl.

I'm in the process of converting a 32 crack shot and a 25 marksman 12 both to 22. The crack shot will be 22 short and the other, long rifle. I'm at the point where I need to get the chambers reamed. So far, no luck in finding a gunsmith to do the work.

Well, both of them are useless in their current form so it was either throw them out or do some rebarrel work. I had a couple of old 22 barrels that I collected over the years and I had a machine shop shorten them from the breech end and replicate the old barrels exactly. The other thing is, I figured out the difference between the 22 and 32 as well as the difference between 22 and 25 and we machined the barrels with a slight offset so that the firing pins wouldn't need to be moved. Might just need to do a bit of work on the extractors.
Now, I need to find some gunsmith able to rechamber these for 22. One is going to be 22 short and the other, long rifle.

I'm not a machinist or gunsmith , I have seen chamber reamers
for sale maybe give it a try with a drill .

I have every drill bit imaginable up to 3/4" metric, fractional, numbered and letter sizes. I should be able to come up with something.
