Gunsmiths around Nanaimo BC

X2 on Guntech if he is not too busy to accept new work. I live in Nanaimo also and since Terry G. stopped taking work I have been unable to find anyone. Dennis is very knowledgeable and does great work at a fair price.

There is also the Silhouette Shop in Duncan. Vern Swarbrick (spelling?) is his name.

here is his business listing:

There was a gunsmith in Nanaimo by the name of Terry Gjerness (last name is spelled wrong probably but it is pronounced Jerness)

He did some work for me last year and is a friend of my fathers. From what I hear though he is retired though

Dennis Sorenson in Brentwood bay is of course I'd say the most versatile gunsmith on the island though providing the most services.

If you are just wanting the trigger done or something similarly simple Vern in Duncan can also do a very good job, he has done all the triggers on my rifles plus some other work.

I'd have to see if Terry is still doing any work, but he is in Nanaimo near the Rock City area

Terry Gjernes was not and is not a gunsmith. He did some work for a few people but has now moved off the island

Karle at Granlunds firearms in campbell river

and T M G Services in oyster river outside of campbell river.
T M G Services is a member here also

I haven't had the need to use a real gunsmith (fully tooled), if it's a matter of mounting a scope or getting a mag conversion fitted, I just take it to Gone Fishin on Rock City Plaza by the Timmies. If there is going to be need for real smith with full tooling, I would not hesitate to take it to brentwood bay's guntech.

You may also want to go up to the NFG and ask the guys there for a recommendation. When Johnson's Hardware use to be around, I use to take it to them, and they take it to somebody...

I don't know if Karle at Granlunds is a fully capable smith, meaning fully tooled to do everything. I do see somebody's rifle sitting on a rifle stand all the time though.

If the new Wholesale Sports allegedly coming in June, also provided smithing services, that would be great.
