Rechambering by hand is not difficult for a rimfire lined barrel.
Of course, care and lots of cutting oil are required.
I did one last century, and it turned out well.
With those elderly Stevens, you've not going for ultra precision.

Thanks! I did some checking and I have a drill bit that is close so I should be able to do it. I have a small lathe but it doesn't have a large enough spindle bore. I have a good assortment of drill bits. Fractional, Numbered, Letter and metric...... something should work.
The only problem that I really see is that I might have some interesting times cutting the relief for the rim.

Ah yes... chuck up a drill in the old Black and Decker and drill away... what can go wrong? lol
