RE: sending parts out of the country for gunsmith work. - By the way, you notice I said 'parts' not breeches, barrels, or other restricted items, the 'parts' would be sent, get worked on, and returned to me, will there be a problem? - please note, I don't really want to hear from the 'internet cops', I want to hear from someone with experience in this area. - I'm not giving any more information except the smith doing the work will be in the USA, I just don't want to get into a pissing match with the 'internet cops'.

What parts you deem restricted don't mean anything... if the US State Department deem those parts as "controlled" that is where you will fall into a problem. It has nothing to do with parts that are "restricted" up here.

I suggest you contact the US State Department since they make the rules on the import/export of controlled items.

It is not worth the hassle as any part right down to a screw is controlled in the USA, just get that top secret work done in Canada.
