Hey

A friend of mine is super stoked that you can now get Gunwerks rifles in Canada. I had never heard of them until he mentioned it. Has anyone ever shot one before? If so how are they?

Thanks

I have not shot one... I know a person who owns one and he is very happy with it. The only thing he did not like is the price. They may have come down I do not know but for the price he paid from the states he could have built two customs that would shoot just as well or better.

yeah way way to much coin for what you get, Sharpshootz I see your new on here but with only two posts and both of them about gunwerks kinda makes me think you might work for/with them....could be wrong but it would not be the first time

Kind of jumping to conclusions aren't we...I have asked alot of questions about products and I am not affiliated with any of them.

Hey thanks :)

No I'm not affiliated with them, my buddy just has been talking to me about taking the shooting course with him. I had questions about both the guns and the course because I knew nothing about them but they belong in different threads, being new I'm trying to do things right ;-)
I see your point about the price, 7000 is quite a lot o_O how much does it typically take to build a good custom and put a scope on it? Never done it myself

no it has happend in the past;)you have no idea what we mods see everyday but we will give him a benefit of the doubt on this and I welcome him here too

Stiller action - 1000
shiilen barrel - 450
Rifle basix trigger - 150
HS bottom metal - 350
Mcmillian stock - 500
bases/rings - 200
Nightforce 5.5-22x50 - 2000
Just very rough prices for you. Then add the price of a good gunsmith to put it all together. Oh and wait about a year to have it in your hands. Thats $4650 in parts, like I said very rough prices, but comparable components to the gunwerks rifle. You could easiy tack on another 500 if you wanted a Jewel trigger and a Near alpha mount for rings/bases.

If a customer WANTS to pay $7000, who are we to say otherwise.

But we can get a whole lot of kit for that type of change.

And if you paid $450 for a BR grade Shilen, you didn't get it from me :)

Big announcement on new services coming next week..... will be in my dealer forum

There a custom rifle. You get what you pay for. My brother is looking right now at buying one for this falls hunting season. There's a dealer in BC that sells them, Corlanes I think. It's would be a nice to have if you can afford one.

Quote of the day right there!

I really think any one of or dealers/Smith's could build or get you the parts for under7k

hey Mystic are you building gun yet?

if I had 7k to dump into a rifle it would be a PGW timberwolf if its good enough for our boys in harms way and after using one I will say its topshelf

There are quite a number of very talented Cdn 'smiths that can build rifles on par with anyone on this planet.

Add up the cost of the parts, add in the cost of the labour, that is what it costs.

Yes, there are several 'smiths that demand 'cache' pricing. how the heck do you build a mauser for $50,000?

And there is work that is hugely labour intensive thus expensive - think engraving to the tune of 5 figures.

Or a wood blank that is several thousand.

I had a read and all of their SYSTEM rifles include a scope, mount and rings. It does bring their pricing down quite a bit especially when a NF NXS is part of the deal.

You buy what you want and spend what you feel it is worth.

Does a $20,000 Rolex tell time any better then a $50 Casio? Seems there are enough who think so.

Jamie, yes, we will be offering full building services. Working out the final prices and then it is web design and getting it online.

I will post what info I can on my dealer forum as soon as possible.

We will be offering top quality builds at fair pricing AND decent turnaround times.

More info to follow.
