I’m just getting setup to reload in 41LC again and I’m curious about these H&C reloading kits. I’ve used Redding dies and a single stage press in the past but I’m debating trying an H&C.

Does anyone use one of these on a centre fire caliber? Any issues? Difficulties? Would you recommend one? Looking for experienced views mostly.

I am not sure why you would use the H&C kit for 41LC since all components for regular reloading are available.
I guess that was what I wanted to find out, I’ve had two different Redding die sets and had varying quality. I’m just curious to know if the HC kits are any decent quality, I’m certain they could be used like a Wilson die under an Arbor press, I’ve just never heard a solid review about the quality or how well they work.

MosinMan13: On the Duelist1954 youtube site, Mike Beliveau aired a video describing his experience with the H & C kits. This was for loading rimfire rounds. But, you may find his observations useful. May have to search a bit, but the video(s) are there.
The kits do seem to be good quality.

Yes, the kits are excellent quality. I encountered problems with the rimfire kits because the primer would not sit deep enough and did not work in all revolvers. Kind of tiring doing this for 41LC when you can buy regular dies, brass and bullets.

Totally and Redding makes really nice dies, and for cheaper. Where I run into issues is with the seating die primarily, the seating stem deforms my MP 200gr projectiles, though I had luck making a soft bumper out of hot glue.

I hadn’t been able to find any answers as to how well the HC kit works seating different profile projectiles from the HC supplied line so I went with the Redding again.

I agree with the previous comment about them not working well with all revolvers (rimfire version). Used them in my colt newlines and they work very well. Tried them in my .38 RF forehand and wadsworth and the spacing is too tight and it jams after the first shot.
That being said I have all three rimfire kits, they are really good quality.
