Has somebody imported one yet? Is the FRT in motion?
They are available in Europe.
Is H&k distributor/importer in Canada bankrupt?

It should be pretty basic as it semi auto G36 and marketed as such, and a semi auto G36 version already has a FRT
You would think if there exists any rational the FRT should follow that off precedents of previous FRT decisions.

I don't doubt it will be produced, but there is really no rush on their part to make it happen. HK has been advertising this model for more than a year. The RCMP know about it as they attend all the trade shows. That there is no FRT yet demonstrates that they will drag their feet for as long as possible.

You would think the rcmp lab would need a sample to start the process of a FRT?

Some where around here it was claimed some one out side of the now bankrupt importer has sent the rcmp a sample, as 243 are now available in Europe.

Anyone one know if the 243 will accept g36 or sl8 barrels?

Honestly nobody but the guys at FN Sports/RNicholls, and the RCMP knew if they sent it in or not. And I seriously doubt anything short of a FOIR would get that info out of the RCMP.

As far as the barrel situation goes, I was fairly sure that in order to make a civilian version of the G36, the barrel had to be different, the barrel is one of the "firearm parts" as far as Germany is considered. I had read that the trunnion and barrel was substantially different to 'fix' the heat problems the trunnion suffered. I don't think anybody will know until they get their hands on one and take it apart though.

Here some info from Europe:

The 243 will have his own barrel, the G36 barrel will not fit. And as F22_RaptoR said, it was mandatory to do it this way to make it legal for the civilian market.
Also the lower is made so a conversion will not be possible.

I ordered the rifle and it should be here (The Netherlands) in a few weeks. If you guys want I could strip it and post a sh*tload of pictures when I get it.
The price in The Netherlands is € 1730,00 (S-SAR version, as the other one is one ugly bastard)
I also ordered the mag-conversion for € 130,00 (expected a lot more)

I have no idea what the importregulations are in Canada, but if you check www.egun.de there are a few on there (now and then) with sellers that ship abroad.

I have been a critic of North Sylva, But I am very hopeful that they will do a good job importing these rifles for all my criticizing N.S. they have done large scale imports, much faster than their competitors and bringing the price price down on their imports as well so I am hoping they can get the 243 in here at reasonable time line and price.

sweet. does this mean hks announcement of price drops across the board for all their products will apply here too?

FYI - North Sylva has been granted distribution for Heckler & Koch at Shot Show 2015!!!

I could have told you that 5 weeks ago.
I eluded to the fact that it wasn't going to be the same gang but I couldn't come out and say it without putting someone else in trouble.
They have actually shipped pistols to dealers as far back as 7 weeks ago.
