So, once again, I'm left feeling slightly like a dumb ass....

I got a 3 point sling for my H&K (an H&K sling, no less), and was a little disappointed with the practicality of it.

Being sure I must be doing something wrong, I pulled it out for another look, and sure enough, I'm doing it wrong.

I've found a more comfortable way of mounting it, but from looking at some pictures, I can see just how versatile it is. Of course, I'm left playing with buckles and getting tangled up like some kind of special needs child trying to figure it out.

I guess what I'm really asking, is does anyone know where I might find some clear instructions (really, like idiot proof) on different ways to set up and wear my sling?

Thanks!

Check on YouTube. There are lots of demonstrations. Farmboy does a pretty good spiel showing how to set up the BFG SOC-C sling.

I'm sure, however, that someone will be quick to jump in here and tell you that 3-Point slings are, "So 2005..." and are no longer in fashion. :) Followed by a recommendation you immediately buy a two-point Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Sling. :) The latter is actually a pretty great sling, although I wish they'd switch to a tighter weave/type of ballistic nylon strapping like that used by Spectre Gear. Good luck!

LOL :D

The VCAS is nylon, but solution washed, hense why it doesn't cut up the neck and has IR properties.

You might prefer the Victory sling if you like the slippery nylon better as it's not solution washed. ;)

I've changed my preference to any single point sling, from the HK. I've found it to be cleaner, less cumbersome, and simpler. Slings are like a pair of shoes. What fits for someone, may not fit another.
