Okay I know this will not have alot of people who can respond but I'd really like to know what H&K is thinking. I have tried to order some rails and parts for my G36K and my UMP. FN Sports tells me that I can't have weaver rails or any other accessories because these are restricted to law enforcement only and the parts require and H&K end user certificates. Well then if they are restricted to law enforcement why the hell are they legally registered and sitting in my vault. It turns out I can get these parts in the US no problem but H&K dislikes Canadian ownership? I've never seen a manufacturer not support their product before....does anybody have any ideas or input for Canadian parts?

that is because the guns you bought where intially imported into canada via a "movie prop" permit and then the dealer sold them to public..... he got spanked pretty hard by HK for it.

learn to live with it, you will never get parts or service for your HK from the factory..... I owned an hkG36E and while it is a great rifle the price point was to high to make it a "GREAT" rifle.

I'm no expert on this but, well some of the confusion is that there is HK Germany and HK USA. That said HK regulates in Canada to protect its LE buisness in Canada. Some of those parts may be available in the US because they come from HK USA, not from the German manufacture.I'll say a few words on FN Sports and then I'll "shut her down" before it gets nasty. FN Sports really IMO likes to deal with LE when it comes to HK and other "military" products. To explain this I think that the LE community frowns on them selling the "same" type or style of gear to civi's. This is not a legal thing just a policy to keep there LE customers happy.

From what Ive read, HK Usa seems generally opposed to any civilian sales of either guns or parts...the people on HK pro ##### about it all the time in their posts. Look at their stance on the new rifles. Maybe its a liability thing, I dunno, but it seems to be fact that its increasingly becoming policy for HK in North America to be anti anything that doesnt either involve goverment, military or law enforcement sales, deals etc...

I was VERY close to buying a USP for my first handgun. The fit was near perfect in my freakishly large hands. Price and reputation was apparently great. Then I happened to Google "USP" for pictures, stumbled onto the hkpro site, read a few comments and changed my mind.

I'm still looking for first pistol...

Yeah you make an interesting point...HK seems to be #### against us civilian owners who have spent lots of money on thier products...I am still a huge fan, but also am abit dismayed with the way their corporate policy is going...

I am not sure If I will buy another HK product...maybe maybe not..but I really like my USP, the action is so damn smooth when you hit the slide release...

Maybe look at Sig? Provided its a German built one...or maybe Glock?

You might want to take a look at the Springfield XD 40. I have large hands as well and my XD fits perfectly. I also bought the EFK Firedragon 9mm conversion barrel as well. 2 guns for the price of one. One of the best purchases I've recently made.

a TDA USP may not have the best DA trigger, but the SA is nice and it always goes bang. Very rarely will you see an HK jam.

Yeah several thousand in mine ....and no jam yet...Very easy to clean as well.

lol apparently HK doesnt care...recently they accused some in the US of being thieves for legally aquiring the new HK416s, which HK USA has said will not be marketed for civilian sales...

Maybe HK policy is different in europe? I have no clue.

H&K have always make it well known that their company policy has been to
sell and support their products primarily for the LE and military markets.
The only way the UMP and G36 units made their way into the Canadian market was definately 'back door', and it shoudn't be any surprize that they have no interest in supporting these units.
Colt had the same policy with their M4 units and that's why the supply dried up here...they weren't interested in them making their way into 'civvie' hands.
Both companies are happy to sell and support only the products which they deem suitable for ''public consumption'..that's their right as businesses.
It's also your right to show your displeasure by not buying their products, but personally I don't think they really care.
It you have one of these 'grey imports', you're only choice is to source the parts and accessories yourself through dealers who are willing to do so, but the official importers aren't going to help....

none of the Canadian LE agencies like dealing with FN/Nichols they all hate it, but they also have no other choice.

If nichols is so bad, how do they manage to stay in business? Is it all contract stuff and nobody wants to change?
