H&K doesn't want you to have their guns?...lol

FOXBAT..........Colt has not stopped selling to civilians up here in Canada by choice . They have purchased Diemaco here in Canada ( now Colt Canada ) , the Canadian gov't is not allowing them to sell to civilians . It is the same deal they held Diemaco to . It is " Not " Colt , it is your Gov't !!!!!

Well they don't have a attitude of disdain for there civilian customers. HK has a worldwide reputation for producing military style weapons for LE and the military. Most of there reputation is built on this, from the SAS operation in the 80's to the present. They focus there main effort on MIL/LE where most of there customers and money come from. This also drives there R&D. That said when I was in Virginia, they had no problems making there new 416 available to the public. They did comment that the "board of directors" had a tendency to "flinch" every now and then when something happened that had negative PR, for example they had a EP course and a Suburban roled over so they shut down the course.Don't be discouraged from buying one of there products, IMO they are top shelf and very high quality. Having shot a couple of thousand rds through the G36K and the MP5, I had no complants and found the G36K to be more user friendly than the C7.The piston desgin is IMO the way to go. Just my $0.02 cents

Boffff... it doesn't affect me a bit.
I always have found H&K's products ugly as hell, even though they are very good indeed, and their board of directors look like a bunch of big, selfish, arrogant and flatulent poops.
They can keep their stuff, i'll buy something else.:p
PP.

The main problem is RC Nicholls ( in Canada anyway), they will not even sell to me, even though my business pertains to me supplying small arms to the military an police. I can buy a HK MP5 out of pakistan (from HK factory) but I cannot buy one from RC Nicholls because of their crummy policies. I can also buy a sig 550 from the swiss but RC will not sell one to me, even though we would be getting guns from the same place. But If you need HK parts we can get them or I am sure another dealer would too. Basically RC controls new HK stuff in Canada and it is more on thier part. If you can get it in the states and it is sold commercially, then it obviously not HK restricting the parts as it would not be so widely available.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but Colt's directive to 'close the pipeline to Canadian 'civie' sales of M4s' predates the purchase of Diemaco by Colt.
PS..By the way Scully, GO,SENATORS,GO!:D

If nichols is so bad, how do they manage to stay in business? Is it all contract stuff and nobody wants to change?

Exactly, R Nichols operates as a general importer for various firearm products. Their main customers are LE and MIL....as opposed to private civilians(save civilians working in private security units, armoured vehicle, etc). What we as firearm enthusiasts contribute to their sales is relatively low. This is also the case for many of the firearm producing companies. Save for specialty companies making neat kits for enthusiasts, target shooters, race, etc....most of the companies that produce mass scale combat products don't need civilians as customers. Now in the US, there is a huge firearms market for civilian use but even so, many companies like Sig Sauer, Colt, Heckler und Koch and so don't need them.

Of course, many also don't refuse to sell to civilians for that extra profitability either...hence all those video games advertising HK and so on.

Well put, civilian sales in the US have a huge market and because of that some companies pursue those sales. That is not the case in Canada because guns sales are so restrictive. HK USA for example produces certain models for the US market, those certain models are profitable just with the civi sales alone. Another example is the company making the M5P clones for about half the price of a real one. They made a go of it on just US LE sales alone.

I hope HK smartens up and realizes the Semi auto versions of their firearms (416) and the like are similiar to firearms civies already can buy. (POF) has seen the market and is making money/sales where HK should have.

Well truth been known they are interested in getting the US military contract since the XM8 failed. This was the case when I worked at GM in London at the LAV plant. There focus was to crack the US market for the LAV, once they did that they knew that the "streets were paved with gold" hence they turned around and sole the business because the US was the "ultimate customer".
