Hi There, so full disclosure up front: I love John Wick and now want his pistol LOL

I currently own a Bersa Thunder Pro 9 as my only 9mm Pistol, but North Sylva posted a picture of the P30L in John Wick configuration and now I'm interested.

Obviously the compensator in the movie is fake... but I wonder if anyone knows where to get something similar here in Canada.. like this:

And of course, what are everyone's thoughts on the pistol? I've read several reviews... I have my eye on the V3, but I admit to not knowing how the LEM trigger works on other models.

Cheers

P30 is a great pistol. You can’t go wrong. Think of the LEM as a double action only but with a shorter, lighter pull.

IMM Holdings manufactures a compensator for the P30L close to what you are looking for. Based out of Illinois, not sure if they ship to Canada but worth a call.

Cheers.

Anyone know where compensators or match barrel weights can be sourced in Canada? I guess I might have to go through IRG....

EDIT:

Lol we posted at the same time. Thx!

I own a HK P30L V3 (no external Safety). I like shooting it and fits great in my hands. Mags are expensive, however.
I'd be interested in the Comp too but it looks expensive....

It's not quite a light DAO. The first part of the pull is very light--I think it's just the trigger return spring providing the resistance--but the final stage is the same as a regular pull. The reset is also only as as long as a traditional DA/SA pull too, which can make for quick follow up shots. I didn't care for it, actually--I would prefer either a DAO or DA/SA version.

great pistol - mega reliable and very accurate if you do your part.
The DA is horrible and heavy but can be worked on, it will most likely require a gunsmith.
I owned 6 different HK P30L, in all different configurations, I am kinda sad I sold my last one but it seems the right thing to do back then.

I might get another one now that prices are aligning with reality, as this pistols were sold for over $1400 at some point.

Good shooters. not the flattest or fastest or awesome trigger but with practice and talent anything works.

John shoots glock now, and so do I :) but I changed to Glock before him lol.

Cheers

It was my first handgun. I have been very happy with it. Mine is the V1 light lem. So the best way I can describe LEM is think hammer fired gun but it shoots like a striker gun under normal use, that being said if you buy into it second strike is available but it will be full da pull. The initial pull is like a two stage trigger very light, then it takes up right at the end, and then breaks. The trigger isn't horrible but it's no match trigger, and unlike the USP while you can change variants in this gun it voids your manufacturers warranty.

Here's a 5000 round range report on mine. Said gun has 7700 rounds, mind you I haven't shot it over the last year. My particular P30L does not like barnaul steel cased ammo, on HKPro I didn't find a lot of people having problems with that ammo, I couldn't replicate it on a P2000 I had at the time or the USP or SFP9. So if you get one maybe look out for that? Other than that it's been a nice fighting handgun.

Really?? I freaking LOVE the LEM trigger on my HK45. Similar to the SA pull on my DA/SA HK45. Wayyy nicer than any DAO I've ever fired, including a SIG 226 DAK I used for a while. I've realized over the years that I hate DAO guns. Especially the RCMP issue S&Ws. If I have a choice, no DAO, no way.

Yeah, I can't quite put my finger (no pun intended!) on why I don't care for them. I know I didn't care for how I felt I had to re-position my trigger finger at the final stage of the pull--that might have been it. I've got small hands so that might have exacerbated the issue, too. It's funny because I've shot tens of thousands of rounds through DA revolvers and Glocks so I thought I'd really like it, but I just couldn't warm up the two I've tried (a P30L and an HK45). I think I am in the minority though.

What's the difference between the H&K P30 and the P30L?

I'm waiting for my H&K - 9mm - P30 V3 - 4.25" threaded barrel to clear for pick up, The barrel thread protector is missing so far I found one on Ebay from Slovenia for $28 anybody know where to find one in Canada ?
Looking forward to putting some rounds through it.
