I have noticed that H&K P30/P30L's are offered for sale more that I have seen in years on the EE...?
And the owners are often asking more than retail....

...and owners are selling new ones or pistols with less than *** (few) if any rounds fired..why?

Here in Canada they make the same 9mm holes in paper as Glocks or Sigs or <pistols....?

Wonder why the sudden dumping of H&K? Is the after the sale customer service less than ideal?

Since they overpaid for a 9mm paper puncher - are they trying to recoup on a German made pistol?

Just seems that: A - many for sale and B - asking a very high price...??

I figure people are buying SFP9’s or P8’s and trying to recoup as much of the P30 expense on sale as possible. Or it’s just a blip.

North Sylva has a less than stellar reputation but I doubt that would drive sales.

EE trends happen all the time, for some it's they need money for Xmas or to go on a hot holiday for some it becouse they bought the gun when prices were lower and are selling becouse on some guns you can almost make your money back. Mostly it's becouse once people see what others are asking for them they figure they can undercut their listing or offer a few more mags ect.
Right now it might be hk's next month it might be sigs or fn's
And the prices on the ee are usually high that's nothing new the good deals don't last people are free to post at whatever price they want but in the end it's only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

Whenever a new gun comes out, a lot of people buy them, and shortly after you see a bunch come up for sale.Especially when the next big thing comes along. The p30 has a military/police trigger which is pretty bad, and a lot of people don't like the paddle mag release. (I actually love it) Also since the sfp9's came out a lot of people went to it. Striker fired, excellent trigger, but a lot snappier to shoot. I have both, and if my p30 had the sfp9 trigger it would be my ideal gun.

awesome gun with an awful trigger. Had all the variants, sold them a few years back and went Glock.
I really like the P30, If I had to go to battle with 1 gun it would be the P30 first, then glock.

It's HK, good guns and therefore people think they should get 95% + of what they paid NEW for it.

My personal favorite tho is a used gun with some knock off "extras" selling for 120% of a new gun...

There’s a well shot Glock 34 with some basic upgrades and a stipple job of unknown quality (no pics) for 1500 right now that just made me chuckle.

I think a lot of people buy police/service type guns because they are cool and then realize how bad they actually are for range use/paper punching. I know I've bought 75+ year old service guns because they are neat and then realized they weren't that much fun to shoot. (crappy triggers, small sights etc etc)....still cool to own though ;)

My guess is people wanted to own John Wicks gun. Bought it at top dollar and then realized they are tough to shoot accurately. Now they are trying to dump them and recoup some of the their money. I say this because I almost did that.

I actually like my P30L v3. Fits my hand great and after getting used to the "controls" and trigger its a great Range toy. I picked mine up off the EE for $730 a couple of years ago in excellent condition. It hasn't replaced my G17 gen3 as my go to .....yet.

My only complaint is mags are pricey.

I picked up a p30s v3 fron a member a couple of months ago. He was asking a very reasonable price. I had to get used to the long heavy double action trigger. It fits my hands just perfect. To bad the magazines are so pricey

HK will always garner appeal. The VP9 was also rather attractive due to price. That said, the VP9 or P30 family of pistols can be a bit of a trick for shooters. Mag release is one of them, especially for shooters with a heavy forward can't on their support hand. Nothing worse that dumping a mag mid string. I've also spoken to a few HK shooters (past and present) who can't shoot their VP9s without chewing up the finger, due to trigger pinch.

Sometimes a gun just doesn't fit. I've let go of a couple amazing pieces for that very reason, namely a CZ P09.

As for price, people will follow the market. One which has always been at a premium.

P30 has a weird grip ergonomic and VP9 is even more weird.

They are narrow near the top of the pistol grip, so the grip is more "pear shaped" than things like Glock and their own offerings like P2000 and HK45 compact. HK45 follows the P30 design.

It is not like they are bad, but it took me a while to figure it out. I have small hands, so the instinct is to put in the smallest grip inserts and backstrap. With the P30, I have to put in the mid size and a combination of M and L side panels and back strap. VP9 just doesn't work for me at all. With P2000, I put in a small back strap I am ready to go. That is why I bought the CZ P10 C because it feels like a P2000 but in striker.
