H&K SL8-5....anything different on this one??

I cannot find any good descriptive information or images on this rifle. Does anyone know whats different between this and the SL8-4s? If you have images (IF it actually looks different), please, post 'em! Thanks folks!
 
Well, from what I can see on the Wolverine price list, the SL8-4 has the short optic rail, and the SL8-5 has the long optic rail. This appears to be what we are used to seeing on the original SL8-1 rifles.
 
ahhhhh, alright. Just wasn't sure, as the rifle on leverarms page shows a design more like the original prototype...probably is the prototype though. Was mainly wondering if the stock style changed at all. But, if that's the only difference, that is a plus in my books. Time to buy!
 
The SL8-5 also has the G36 handguard with vents, mounting threads and no metal heatshield inside.
 
I have heard the sear is plastic in this rifle? Is this true, and how do you current owners find the trigger (stacking, creep, weight) :?:

The trigger is the limiting factor in accuracy, but its 'good enough' for most purposes. Mine smoothed out over a few hundred rounds, feels like about 5 pounds (never measured). Even pull, no stacking.

What is more accurate?Is an AR with the same amount of money put into it or a base SL8?

I don't know about AR's. My SL8, with a good scope and handloads, will do .4" groups at 100. It's about 1" with cheaper optics and factory ammo.

WELL IVE OWNED A ump AND g36
the sear is platic coted steel
as for the sl8 and usc i do not know
the g36 will give the sig pe90 a run for its money :shock:
out of the box the sl8 beats a colt match H bar hands down!
but a ar15 is cheaper and easyer to mod into a true target gun

BBB has owned alot of cool stuff.His UMP he brought to the AR15 course at EESA was a joy to shoot.Very expensive but sweet all the way.If the G36 shoots half as good as the UMP I would still be impressed!!I wish he had brought the G36 so I could have tried that as well.My 13 yearold shot BBB's UMP and now she wants one!!!!Any one got an extra $7000 I can borrow for Christmas??
