H&K SL8 or Sig SG550? and why?

Just out of curiosity, why are you limiting yourself to these 2 rifles? Have you considered the AR15?QUOTE]

well to answer that ive already had experience with AR family and to know the neat + and - sides of both those rifle. love the AR 15 i play with it just about as often as a play with myself lol but like always having a XL double double sometimes you need change. :)

(sry if i have offended anyone it would be unintented)

and if any1 can explain to me how to properly use the quote button it would be apreciated

It looks like you accidentally deleted the [/ before the word QUOTE] at the end.

handle them both and buy the one you prefer, they are both great rifles and you will never wear either one of them out.

I would always choose a Swiss Arms Green Rifle over an H&K SL8 because of its superior construction/durability and great accuracy. This rifle is one of the few rifles which can guarantee a hit on a 300m target on the first shot all the time.
It is heavy because of its solid construction and superior materials!

Meh, the AR15 can do that too, the only downside to the AR15 is the restricted classification.

I actually have to wonder if there'd be fewer military rifles in Canada if the AR15 was non-restricted. If you have an RPAL, you have an AR15, but would as many people bother chasing after that extra non-restricted rifle if you could take out AR out and just blast away with it wherever you pleased (rural areas of course).

Absolutely. If the AR wasn't restricted there are a number of rifles I wouldn't have bought. AR15 and AR10 are great rifles. The restricted aspect is complete BS.

Back to the discussion:

Here's a picture of a flat top PE-90 with Zeiss Conquest 6-20x 50mm. For comparison with the HK SL8. At the time I opted for this setup instead of the SL8. There are some things I like about the SL8 but it does require work and or lots of money to make it into what it should be. In that regard the PE90 usually ends up being either the same price or cheaper than the SL8 once you start changing/modifying the SL8.

A SL8 after being modified. This keeps the SL8 as a varminter/DM rifle. The G36 conversions are significantly more expensive. Here's the thread: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=683332

Ergonomics of the SL8 just don't work for me. I tried my best to like it, but would have had to put a ton of money into it to get it even close to what I thought I wanted. I ended up selling it and getting another Swiss. I found them to be very similar accuracy wise, and would echo what was said about trying to handle both and get what feels better to you.
