How would an SL8 compare to a stock rifle like a 700p or 10fp in terms of accuracy?

At what range? I know of a few people who are getting sub-MOA at 100yards with good loads. Check out hkpro.com for more info.

Ha ! Yeah ok at 100-200m it would shoot ok.Anything past that and the one I had shot like sheit.I wouldn't be looking for 1/2 minute groups though.

Mine holds MOA with factory 69 gn HPBT's at 300m.

My SL8 will shoot a little better than MOA with handloads. Does better with heavier bullets though due to the fast twist. Best 5 shot group at 100 yards so far .470".

I wonder why there was never a .308 varient of the SL8.
I guess the SL9SD was the closest they came.
