I have an Navy sight on my m-14 but for some reason it does not apear to sit straight. It threads onto the barrel and is locked in place with the gas plug. Is there something miss alined or an adjustment I can make to get it vertical. The reciever is Norinco with a TRW bolt and vortex flash eliminator.

I wonder if it's not just a problem of the the sight threading on and when tight it is past TDC. Perhaps the gas system needs to be shimmed to bring it back in line and that would fix the alignment problem with the wight.

Thanks for the Help and PM B.U.M I checked out the ref you gave me and it looks like that will solve the problem. Just got to buy some M-14 tools.

Is your barrel out of index? If so I have some tools in GP that you would be welcome to use.

Thanks for the offer scout!!:) It seems to be exactly as B.U.M said and I need to shim the gasport to index the sight straight. Skull Boy has a proceedure written up on the sticky's above so I should be good to go. As far as the tool, I can see myself doing alot of tinkering with this rifle so I am best off to order my own, Thanks agian for the trusting offer though.:D

Might be a dumb question but one you install the navy sight are you supposed to remove the front sight or leave it there?

The Navy sight replaces the normal M14 front sight.;)

The navy sight was meant to go with the Smith DC Vortex FH, but can be used with a standard M14 FH with the front sight removed.

SKBY.
