So I have been on the hunt for about 6 months for one of these H&K usc. I love want one these to convert it to look like the H&K UMP. While I haven't been able to find one, one of the local gun stores mentioned that they might be working on a new USC model? I was wondering if anyone else has any other info on this new "model". Or even where I can find a USC!! Can't find it anywhere thanks CNN fellas

I purchased mine years ago and know that it's a keeper. I haven't seen one for sale on the EE (or new for that matter) in a while now but as the writer above stated, I haven't heard any rumors about a new model.

Thinking back to my trip, the rumor may have some merit. HK really wanted to phase out the MP5 in favor of the UMP due to production costs. The "problem" was that demand for the MP5 remained very strong. It had broad use in many LE agencies and military units and parts inventories were high. So HK has been unable to phase out the MP5. That and the UMP never received the acceptance HK wanted.

However, HK has been doing makeovers of many of its product lines lately (MP5, G36, HK45, HK416, MR556). Mostly external, ergonomic stuff and colors. I suppose it's not a stretch that they would do the same with the USC.

MP5 with recent upgrades to the standard offering:

Sorry. I didn't mean to steer the thread towards another gun.

It's just when ever mere mortals get access to the leadership of HK (HK USA in this case), invariably the question is asked about new products. Naturally this was discussed at length as well as discussions about existing product lines and their respective evolutions. Hence the UMP/MP5 comparison.

I am blown away by the quickness and the helpfullness of people's posts! I am new to CGN and I've been pleasantly surprised.I was also wondering if there is someone in canada who sells the mod parts to convert the USC a UMP look a like. And I know the ump comes in .45 and .40 sw. Does the usc come in .40sw?

The USC is only available in .45, however you CAN get a barrel, bolt and mags for .40S&W and 9mm.

It seems that getting them ordered through IRUNGUNS seems to be one of the easiest ways from hkparts.net. You'll need:

UMP lower receiver
UMP-USC stock block
UMP buttstock
UMP barrel (or Dlask Arms ones are good, and you can get 8" shorty or 18.75" non-restricted length ones) or you can keep the 16"

If you want to get a .40 cal one you'll need the .40 cal barrel instead of .45, and then the bolt that has been shaved down on the bottom to fit into the USC45 receiver.

You'll need to swap out the USC45 trigger components into the UMP45 lower (take lots of pictures to help the parts go back in right!) and then to open up the magazine hole in the upper for the wider UMP mags. Then for cosmetics, you'll need to mill the cooling slots in the handguard.

There are quite a few guys on here that have done conversions, myself included (albeit not standard) so there is a lot of support if you have any more technical questions!

My UMP conversion as restricted:

Then after I changed it to non restricted status!

I loved my USC, not sure why I sold it.
I still have some new BNIB magazines left for it if anyone is interested.
Or maybe I should just buy another one :)

I grabbed one a month or so ago brand new from target sports for $1700 tax in. Couldn't say no to that. The only problem is that getting the conversion parts is a very tough and expensive job. Great rifle though; super fun to shoot. Love the coversion you did bfiles, hopefully I will get there one day with mine.

So thanks to a member on here i found one locally for sale! im going to go look at it tomorrow and hopefully pick it up. it might be a while till i modify the gun all the way but where or who makes the conversion parts to convert it to a ump? can anyone suggest any retailers or manufactures of the Ump conversion parts??
