I am looking to go back into IPSC and I use to shoot a Glock 22 which was a great pistol but that one is gone now. So I was wondering what people would think of the H&K USP Sport has a new production pistol, is there any more of an upside between either of them. Also what would be a good Holster for the H&K cause I was hoping one would fit in the Glock version of the Ghost Holster and it does not.

I had a Custom Sport and to be honest I didn't like it...
I found it very awkward. Awkards to draw, to grip and to shoot...If you haven't tried one, I'd suggest you do (live fire)
However, lots of people use the HK and really swear by them...
I was using a Speedsec 5 CW holster. I liked it so much I bought one for my SVI and Glock

As Quigley says, it depends if you like USP's or not. If you do it is the best USP you can get for Production. The match trigger makes a big difference and the adjustable sights are very nice.
USP's are accurate, have decent triggers and are very well made. Downside for most is high bore axis and thick grip.
Best bet is to try one out and see for yourself.

I currently own and have used both the Glock 22 and HK USP Custom Sport in 9mm in IPSC Production. I find the grip on my G22 to feel better in my hand and the recoil to be different than the USP. My downloaded .40 rounds give more than a slow push than the snap of the factory 9mm rounds I shoot in the USP.
I have been shooting factory rounds in the USP for matches because I do not feel any difference in recoil when downloading the 9mm; however, my reloads were causing my USP to FTE. I find reloads with the USP go more smoothly for me with the release on the trigger guard because I do not need to move my hand position whatsoever, but I have to be carefull that I don't get lazy and hit the trigger when searching for the release due to their close proximity.
The biggest difference I find is with the double/single action transition on the trigger with the USP. I find myself yanking on the trigger for the single actions shots. Clearly, this is a problem with the pilot.
The second biggest difference is the bore axis on the glock is lower than the USP.
The third difference is the trigger mechanism.
Each gun has its positives and negatives. My recommendation is to find a pistol that you like that meets production requirements and get out and use it. Any production gun in properly trained and practised hands will be a winner.

I use it. Cut my teeth on it, so I don't find anything awkward about it. I have well over 8700 rds of factory 147gr ammunition thru it, with two failure to feed. Once in NS, and once in NB. In both instances it was traced back to a really crappy mag that I would only use if I run out of mags on my belt,(the lips were all bent to crap, and I tried heating the plastic to remold it, but made it worse).
I like the mag release because I don't have to shift my grip to press the mag release, and I have to take my trigger finger out of the trigger guard to push the mag release (hence, my finger is out of the trigger guard to change mags, which should always happen when moving, when your finger should not be in the trigger guard)
It is reliable, reliable. The only thing I have changed are the sights, I have an ameriglo front sight (listed as the tactical), and a rear set of Mepro adjustables. I performed some trigger smoothing via light polishing/detailing as per instructions by Bruce Gray on the HKpro forums. This helped reduce the DA trigger, but more importantly helped smooth it out. The SA is very good. I use a Speedsec holster, but i would recommend the Dropped and offset Bladetech holster instead of the speedsec. I am picky, and if a gun doesn't work reliably, I don't want it. I have two HK usp 9mm's. One is a DAO LEM , and the other is a Variant #1 (TDA), but it will soon be a Variant #3 (no external Safety, not needed in Production, as you start in DA mode).
Mag changes are pretty easy with this gun, as is target aquisition, (front sight is huge) but no matter what you get, everything takes practice. I use 15rd mags (blocked of course), which have the finger extended base plate.

Well thanks guys I think I might go with the H&K cause I have the Mark 23 and love shooting that haha would be in Open if I ever brought that to an ipsc match but I really like the way it shoots and here nothing more then compliments on the USP so thanx guys!
technially it is a fine pistol, the only thing is that, like with every other gun, the question is how it fits/feels in your hand. Some people (myself included) hate their mag release mechanism, but others love it.
So, there is nothing wrong with the gun, just make sure you can/like to shoot it.

Speaking of the MK23, I have seen it used in IPSC, open division......you are at a disadvantage as it does not have optics, comps, and the slide moves slower than any race gun. The weight does help it shoot very flat, and the trigger is the best TDA I have ever used.
That being said, Trent has fun. (Hi Trent). I used it once at the range in an IPSC style shoot,, lots of fun, almost banging into targets, and I could have use it as a blunt weapon if I ran out of ammo! (freakin' huge)
