Gents,

Looking to buy a .45 and I am having a hard time deciding between these 2. Looking for opinions. Would like to get my full 10 rounds in a pistol the H&K meets this. The Sig Specs say 8 rounds, but I see that you can buy 10 round mags for it, do the 10 round mags petrude at all or are they just as flush as the 8 rounders. How do each compare as far as feel? trigger? and accuracy? all opinions welcome.

thanks,

The 10 round mags for the Sig do stick out below the bottom of the gun. Both are good guns, I would give the quality advantage tot he SIG. As far as fit and feel, if you are considering the HK USP in .45, you better have a big hand, it is not a small gun, I have a fairly big hand and I find the USP 45 a bit of a big gun to grips, the Sig is a much nicer gun to for me. Best thing to do is get your hands on both of them and find which feels better to you.

Forget the USP, do yourself a favor and check out the new HK45. The ergonomics of the HK45 are head and shoulders above anything HK has done before. Im a 1911 guy, i just picked up a HK45 and i think it is a truly amazing piece. The feel of the HK45 is as close to a 1911 as any of the modern plastics yet, it is built like a tank and as Larry Vickers was involved with the design and testing of the gun and has seen the extreme testing it has gone through, he says " it is bomb proof " , highly recommend. Look into it.

I'm a big fan of both Sig and HK. I'd have a hard time deciding between a P226 and USP 9mm (luckily I own both). However, in .45ACP I would go with a HK for two reasons: 1) better mag capacity (with flush mags) and 2) better reliability (Sig was having extraction problems with some of their P220s recently).

1911, the most over rated handgun in the world.....model T Fords were a great car for their day too:evil::evil::evil::evil:.........

Ditto the recommendation on the HK45 over the USP. Personally I love the USP but the grip is not for everyone. The HK45 has much broader appeal.

I say Sig. The problems some Sig P220s had are now gone, they had problems with the internal extractor, new production models now are like the P226, external extractor and they don't have issues anymore.
But here you're comparing apples to oranges, a polymer and an alloy handgun.

Both are great. I have a USP and a 226. The USP is not 100% ergonomically good but it is a nice piece. A stainless 220 would be nice plus you can change grips on it too. Check around on the EE there seems to be alot of both around. The HK45 would be great much nicer for ergonomics. Maybe in a bit it will come down in price.

The HK45 has gone from 1599.00 to 1290.00 now.
Wolverine 1290.00
Tse 1299.00
P&D 1350.00

for the best $ value I'd go P-345......or a rinco 1911a1.....cuz that old technology is only worth 300$ anyway.....attend a tactical response pistol course if you wanna hear the REAL story on 1911's:eek::evil::eek::evil:

I say SIG and here is a pic of the protrusion of the 10 rnd mags.

If you want a .45,...get the new HK45,....it is a USP with much better ergonomics.
